The role

Prepare buildings for the future
By now, you have several years of experience within sustainability, energy, or the built environment. You know the basics, have carried out projects independently, and are ready for more substantive responsibility and client contact. At SGS Search, you will be given the space to take that next step, without us expecting you to already know everything.

Within our sustainability team, you will advise property owners, investors, housing corporations, governments, and companies on making buildings and real estate portfolios more sustainable. You will work on concrete issues surrounding energy performance, CO2 reduction, ESG, and laws and regulations, and translate your analyses into practical advice that clients can act upon immediately.

What you'll do

This is what you will do
As a Mid-level Sustainability & Energy Advisor, you will independently take on parts of projects and, for more complex assignments, work together with experienced colleagues. You will communicate directly with clients, monitor the progress of your activities, and ensure clear reporting and advice. In doing so, you will not only be working on substantive content but will also gain increasing responsibility within projects.

One time you might investigate which measures are needed to make a building Paris Proof. Another time, you might conduct an energy performance study, guide a certification process, or support a client with a broader sustainability strategy. You will combine desk research with on-site inspections and work together with colleagues from fields such as building technology, environment, and sustainability.

Your duties

  • Independently conducting energy performance and sustainability studies.
  • Inspecting buildings and analyzing structural elements and technical installations.
  • Preparing clear reports, improvement proposals, and strategic advice.
  • Advising on the sustainability of individual buildings and complete real estate portfolios.
  • Guiding certification and assessment processes, for example regarding BREEAM.
  • Supporting clients with ESG issues and CO2 reduction targets.
  • Coordinating with clients and monitoring agreements, quality, and progress within your projects.
  • Collaborating in multidisciplinary project teams and actively sharing your knowledge and insights.
  • Identifying market developments and opportunities within the energy transition.
