The role

In this independent role, you are the key technical point of contact at our location in Oudewater. You ensure that installations and production lines continue to run reliably, prevent breakdowns wherever possible, and intervene quickly when technical challenges arise. Thanks to your knowledge, overview, and proactive attitude, you maintain control over maintenance and actively contribute ideas for improvements.

You work independently on-site, but you are never alone. You have regular contact with colleagues from the technical service in IJsselstein and coordinate with external parties where necessary. Additionally, you will be given the space to further develop yourself and take on increasing responsibility within the technical organization. This position therefore offers excellent opportunities for someone who wants to deepen their expertise in technology, maintenance management, and coordination.

Westfort is a Dutch family business with over 1,600 colleagues. From our locations in IJsselstein, Oudewater, and Hedel, we process approximately 300,000 tons of pork annually and realize a turnover of approximately €700 million. We work exclusively with Dutch pigs and Dutch pig farmers.

In doing so, we consciously choose long-term cooperation in chains, in which we work together towards further improvement in the areas of animal welfare, animal health, and environmental impact.

Since 2015, our main location in IJsselstein has grown into one of the most modern meat processing locations in Europe, featuring an integrated freezing plant. In Oudewater, we manufacture and package consumer products for the Dutch retail sector. In Hedel, we produce a wide assortment of meat products, with a strong specialization in organic. Europe is our home market, but Westfort products also find their way worldwide.

At Westfort, we therefore believe it is important that everyone is seen and heard. We attach great value to the new knowledge our colleagues bring, so that we can learn from each other. Despite our growth, we are an organization with short lines, a no-nonsense mentality, and much attention to our employees. Here, you are not a number, but an important link in our success.

What you'll do

This is what you will do:
You are responsible for resolving breakdowns and preventing downtime of our production processes.

  • You perform preventive maintenance and monitor the technical condition of installations and machines.

  • You identify opportunities for improvement and suggest ideas for the optimization of processes and installations.

  • You plan maintenance activities and coordinate these with colleagues and external parties.

  • You coordinate the activities of external suppliers and oversee safe and correct execution.

  • You monitor the progress of maintenance activities and ensure good technical administration in Ultimo.

  • You manage the technical warehouse, monitor stock levels of parts and materials, and ensure that necessary resources are available in a timely manner for maintenance and breakdown activities.

  • You work according to the applicable guidelines regarding safety, quality, and food safety.

  • You are an important sparring partner for the Technical Service and make an active contribution to technical projects and improvement initiatives.

About the role

You have the possibility to start your workday flexibly between 07:00 and 10:00, with the start time to be coordinated in mutual consultation.
