You work closely with the project team to identify and manage risks, and you ensure that all safety procedures are correctly followed. You ensure that safety is integrated into every part of the project, from the tender phase to completion.

What you'll do

As a Project Safety Specialist, you contribute to the execution of large tenders and are responsible for safety within complex construction projects, from start to finish. You work in a team of safety specialists, where collaboration with various parties and subcontractors is essential. A good example of this is the Galecopperbrug project, where you coordinate the safety of various parties, including different subcontractors, and take an integral approach to safety. Additionally, there are other projects such as the RWG terminal in the ports of Rotterdam for Zwijndrecht.

In this role, you are involved in defining the interfaces and risks at the front end of projects. You identify safety risks and propose preventive measures, always safeguarding the safety of employees and the progress of the project. During the execution of the project, you regularly perform safety audits and coach colleagues in the interest of a safe workplace. Safety is embedded in everything you do, from leading incident investigations to maintaining safety cycles after project completion. You ensure that annual inspections take place to map out and control risks, so that you are always prepared for the future. During the tender phase, you ensure that lessons learned are incorporated into new projects, so that safety can be continuously improved. Additionally, you analyze trends and steer based on them, support the safety culture within the organization, and act as a role model in the field of safety.

In this position, you will perform extensive risk analyses and safety inspections, draft and implement detailed safety plans, and guide and train employees in the field of safety. You oversee compliance with safety regulations and procedures, report safety incidents, and take corrective measures. Additionally, you analyze trends and steer based on them, support the safety culture within the organization, and act as a role model and trainer in the field of safety.

You are a passionate and experienced Senior Safety Specialist committed to creating safe and healthy working environments. You have strong analytical skills, are communicatively skilled, and can work effectively both independently and in a team. Thanks to your proactive approach and eye for detail, you are able to identify potential hazards at an early stage and implement effective solutions. You constantly strive to improve processes and strengthen the safety culture within an organization.
