It is 7:00 AM, your shift has only just begun and the phone rings... "There is an accident with a tanker on the A15, oil is flowing across the road surface." This is where you spring into action! You immediately start switching gears. The road must be closed and a diversion must be set up. The cleanup and cleaning of the road surface must be started as quickly as possible. In no time, you mobilize the right people and resources and know exactly which steps are needed to get the situation under control. There... and now first coffee. But not for too long, because the next report could come in at any moment... A job full of dynamics, responsibility, and impact. "We do serious business", will you join us?
Your job
You are right in the middle of the action at our beautiful company. And that there is action at Wilchem, that is one thing for sure... We are ready 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As specialists, we limit the consequences of environmental incidents, accidents involving (hazardous) substances, and incidents on the road. Our colleagues spring into action more than 4,500 times a year, safely, quickly, and effectively. Whatever the situation, we provide a tailor-made solution.
As Control Room Coordinator, you, together with your colleagues, are the beating heart of our company. You are the first link in incident management and ensure that the right actions are deployed immediately. The phone rings. A report comes in. You ask the right questions and make an assessment lightning-fast. What happened? Are there hazardous substances involved? How do we guarantee the safety of our colleagues on site? You register the incident in our system, assess the risks, and determine which resources are needed to resolve the situation safely and quickly.
You are the one who has and keeps the strings in hand from start to finish. How much manpower, material, and equipment? Making a KLIC report? Coordinating waste streams? If necessary, you engage subcontractors and arrange additional traffic measures. All with one goal: a minimal response time and maximum safety.
But it doesn't stop there. You continue to monitor the incident from a distance and keep it in view in real time until it is completed. In that way, you maintain an overview of who is working where and which deployments are ongoing. Additionally, you ensure accurate administrative processing, because fast, efficient, and correct invoicing is at least as important.
Our operational colleagues work from Papendrecht, Vijfhuizen, and Europoort, allowing us to be at work with the right equipment within seconds. They are the specialists in incident management on the road, hazardous substances, and cleaning activities. Their success begins with you. Thanks to your tight planning and coordination, they are always in the right place at the right time. We work for a wide range of clients, such as contractors, Rijkswaterstaat, industrial and logistical companies, the maritime sector, and individuals.
Your qualities
Never a dull moment as Control Room Coordinator at Wilchem. And that is exactly what gives you energy! Therefore, it is important that you maintain an overview, switch gears quickly, and remain calm, no matter how dynamic the day is. We are looking for a stress-resistant doer with a great sense of responsibility. Someone who keeps a cool head in hectic situations and who stands firm in their shoes. A true administrative and organizational multitasker who always thinks one step ahead and can switch gears quickly. A few words that best describe you are: reliable, flexible, stress-resistant, and decisive. Furthermore:
