Senior Safety Specialist / HSE Advisor

For the A27 Houten-Everdingen project, we are looking for an experienced Senior HSE Advisor who not only monitors safety but also actively shapes it. In this role, you will be an important sparring partner for project management, site managers, and work preparers, and you will play a key role in strengthening the safety culture within one of the largest infrastructure projects in the Netherlands.

You will be visibly present on the construction site, with particular attention to complex structural works, including the realization of structures, bridge constructions, and large-scale civil works. Thanks to your experience, you know how to identify risks at an early stage, coach colleagues, and raise safety awareness to a higher level.

• Directing, guiding, and coaching HSE colleagues and project teams in the area of safe working;
• Acting as a strategic advisor to project leadership and management regarding safety issues;
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE policy within the various project components;
• Testing and optimizing RI&E's, TRA's, V&G plans, and other safety documentation;
• Taking the lead on complex safety issues surrounding structural works and temporary facilities;
• Performing audits, inspections, and safety rounds on the construction site;
• Analyzing incidents and trends and translating findings into structural improvements;
• Maintaining contacts with the client, Inspectorate SZW, subcontractors, and other stakeholders;
• Initiating safety campaigns, workshops, and toolbox meetings to further strengthen the safety culture;
• Actively contributing to knowledge development and best practices within BESIX Nederland.

You are an experienced safety specialist who stands firmly in your shoes and is able to convince, coach, and address people where necessary. You combine strategic insight with a practical approach and feel at home in a complex project environment where many disciplines work together.
