Land Surveyor / Setting-out Technician in the Netherlands

Do you have a passion for technological developments and innovation? Do you enjoy working outdoors and do you find infrastructural projects cool? Gebr. Van Kessel is looking for an experienced Land Surveyor for our diverse projects.

In your role as a Land Surveyor, you play an important role in the preparation of our projects. You are responsible for preparing setting-out data, setting out heights, road alignments, sewer manholes, ditches, axis points, and sand tracks. In short, you are involved from A to Z in the preparation, execution, and completion of the projects. You also perform 0-measurements, generate 3D models for machine control, and carry out as-built measurements, which you subsequently process yourself into deliverable as-built drawings. You work meticulously every day and want your preparations to be perfect so that your colleagues can continue their work pleasantly.

Also, in your role, you are in a lot of contact with your colleagues; you advise project managers and designers on the practical applicability of the design. Additionally, you are in frequent dialogue with the project foreman to ensure that the setting-out work aligns seamlessly with the overall construction schedule. If challenges arise, you devise a suitable solution together with the construction team.

Within the Gebr. Van Kessel land surveyors team, we work closely together and collegiality is central. Everyone is ready to help one another and we assist each other where necessary, so that projects run smoothly and knowledge is shared within the team. The team focuses heavily on innovations such as setting out with a robot plotter, measuring with Pix4Dcatch, and using drones! We are not just land surveyors, of course, but also just mates to one another. That good atmosphere and cooperation ensure that the surveying work is always of high quality and that colleagues on the projects can rely on accurate and clear data.

Additionally, within our team, we do more than just work in road construction. For example, we are also involved in diverse projects such as roof gardens, sports fields, measuring joint transitions, and the setting out and measuring of artworks. This diversity ensures that no project is the same and that as a land surveyor, you work on different types of infrastructural and civil engineering projects.

Your motivation to develop yourself is paramount. Additionally:

• You have at least 5 years of work experience in a similar position;

• You have knowledge and experience with digital setting-out equipment such as a Total Station and GPS measuring set;

• Experience and knowledge with AutoCAD and Civil3D is a plus;

• You are accurate, eager to learn, proactive, and flexible.
