A gross monthly salary (based on 40 hours) of € 3,400 to € 4,900 - based on your background and experience

The role

Technology, collaboration, and building impressive projects. As a Buyer at Van Hattum en Blankevoort, it all comes together. Whether you have just completed your education or already have a few years of work experience: with us, you get the chance to learn the purchasing profession or to develop further within it. You will be guided by an experienced senior buyer who will teach you the ropes of the trade. This allows you to grow in your role while your senior gains more space for strategic procurement issues. Together, you will build good relationships with suppliers and subcontractors and ensure clear agreements and the best solutions for our projects. At the same time, you will contribute to the sustainability of the construction chain. A great opportunity to develop yourself and make a direct impact on civil and structural engineering projects!

What you'll do

As a Buyer, you support our project teams in everything related to procurement. You work closely with colleagues, suppliers, and subcontractors and ensure that agreements are clear and everyone knows what is expected.

You request quotes and compare offers on quality, price, and terms
You make agreements with suppliers and subcontractors regarding quality, expectations, prices, and terms
You contribute ideas for smart, efficient, and sustainable procurement solutions
You learn to handle procurement processes increasingly independently, with guidance from your senior colleague

Can we also count on you?

You are curious, strong in communication, and enjoy combining technology and commerce. You don't need to know everything yet; we find motivation and eagerness to learn to be at least as important.

You have a completed MBO or HBO education, for example in Civil Engineering or another technical direction
You work accurately, think in solutions, and have a sense for cost and quality
You enjoy collaborating and dare to take initiative
Experience with procurement or a NEVI education is a plus, but not a requirement

About the company & team

As the most experienced civil contractor in the Netherlands, Van Hattum en Blankevoort designs, builds, and maintains civil structures such as bridges, viaducts, fly-overs, tunnels, underpasses, underground stations, basements, and foundations. In and around the water, we provide various harbor constructions (quays, jetties, revetments) and defense or regulation works (weirs, locks, pumping stations, sewage treatment plants, and dike reinforcements).
