The role

Starting together: become a pioneer in our new specialist team for our youth!

Are you ready to help build a new, specialist team for youth with attachment and trauma issues?
As a youth care worker, you will get the chance to contribute to a strong foundation from the very start, help develop new ways of working, and truly make a difference. Join us and help create a place where young people feel seen and supported, and where you can grow together with your colleagues.

In our small-scale group, we create a safe haven where young people discover their strengths and can walk their own path toward adulthood.

What you'll do

In our small-scale open treatment group in Venlo, we create a safe environment where young people work on emotion regulation, self-insight, and personal growth. As a youth care worker, you will focus on the upbringing and treatment of young people with complex issues. Together with the team, you will create a safe and supportive living environment in which young people work on their personal development. The emphasis lies on increasing their independence and self-reliance. You will coordinate progress meetings, handle reporting, and work rotating shifts within a 24-hour roster (such as day, late, and sleep shifts).

A workday in the group is dynamic and varied. For example, you might start by guiding the morning ritual: helping young people get up, eat breakfast, and leave on time for school or day activities. During the day, you work on drafting and adjusting treatment plans, consult with colleagues or external parties, and conduct individual conversations with young people. In the afternoon and evening, you are actively present in the group: you cook together, provide guidance with homework or leisure time, and offer structure and support where needed. In this way, you help young people step by step toward an independent future.

Requirements

  • You are flexible, stand firm in your shoes, and have the energy and courage to work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.

About VIGO

In their own words

About the company & team

You will work in a young, new team of four colleagues. This means we still have to get to know each other well, but it also means there is a lot of energy and fresh ideas. We brainstorm with each other during handovers, supervision, and soon during a team day. Additionally, we work closely with a permanent behavioral scientist and, soon, an outpatient counselor.
