About VIGO
In their own words
About the company & team
As a GZ-psychologist in the AMBIT team, you play an essential role in providing appropriate care to people with severe personality problems. This target group often falls outside the regular outpatient offerings due to their instability or dysregulation. The team works according to the AMBIT method, a team-oriented methodology based on attachment theory, with MBT (Mentalisation Based Treatment) as the psychotherapeutic framework.
Your primary responsibility is guiding and coordinating treatments within the AMBIT team. You work together with a multidisciplinary team of professionals and have an important role in building a secure attachment relationship with the client. Promoting the capacity to mentalize is central to this. You support the client in understanding his or her own behavior and the behavior of others, based on mental states such as intentions, feelings, wishes, and purposes. You do this in conjunction with the team.
In addition to working with the client, you place a strong emphasis on building relationships with the client's network. You work together with loved ones and other involved parties to create a supportive and collaborative network. The team focuses not only on the client's symptoms but also on other life domains such as the socio-societal and relational (family, partner, guidance) domains. You ensure that the client and his or her immediate environment and activities are central to the treatment, with the focus on change and recovery.
As a lead practitioner, you are also responsible for drafting and monitoring treatment plans, providing individual therapy to clients as well as performing systemic interventions, and coordinating cooperation with other professionals and caregivers. You perform diagnostic assessments, evaluate the progress of the treatment, and adjust interventions where necessary. You are also involved in providing consultation and advice to colleagues, and sharing knowledge and expertise within the team, as well as beyond.
