GZ-psychologist SPAA (Maternity Cover)

For the Emergency Psychiatry Amsterdam-Amstelland (SPAA), GGZ inGeest is looking for a GZ-psychologist for a temporary maternity cover from December 2026 to September 2027.

You will become part of an experienced multidisciplinary team and make an important contribution to the treatment of clients in acute psychiatric crisis.

As a GZ-psychologist within the crisis service, you will fulfill a versatile role. Your duties include:

·       Performing diagnostics and indication setting.

·       Treating clients with diverse psychiatric issues, often with comorbidity.

·       Utilizing evidence-based treatment methods, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), EMDR, and other appropriate interventions.

·       Providing group treatments and coordinating the group offerings within the department.

·       Conducting systemic interviews with relatives and other involved parties.

·       Contributing ideas regarding treatment policy and client interaction during daily multidisciplinary consultations.

·       Providing an active contribution to the further development of psychological care within the crisis service.

·       Fulfilling an important role within the morning handover, where you contribute your expertise regarding diagnostics, treatment, and follow-up policy.

·       Providing work supervision to psychologists in training (to become GZ-psychologists).

Within the Emergency Psychiatry Amsterdam-Amstelland (SPAA), you will meet clients with diverse backgrounds, ages, and psychological issues. You will work with adults in an acute psychiatric crisis, often involving complex and severe issues. These include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, psychosis, personality disorders, autism, and other psychiatric conditions.

Together with colleagues, you will assess which care is most appropriate at that moment and contribute to drafting a treatment policy aimed at stabilizing the crisis and organizing appropriate follow-up care.

You will join a multidisciplinary team in which there is close collaboration with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, medical doctors, nurses, doctors in training, and GP trainees. The psychology team consists of two clinical psychologists, one GZ-psychologist, several psychologists in training to become GZ-psychologists (PioG's), and one GZ-psychologist in training to become a specialist (GIOS).

Within the team, collaboration, expertise, humor, and a safe working atmosphere are central. Psychological expertise is explicitly valued and plays an important role in diagnostics, treatment, group treatments, and the further development of the range of care offered.
