The role
Do you have a higher professional education (HBO) degree AND does working within a collaboration of Accare, Ambiq, Jeugd GGZ, and Pactum appeal to you? Then we are looking for you for KINGS Deventer!
What is KINGS?
KINGS stands for Kind In Gezond Systeem (Child In Healthy System) and is a phased treatment model developed for youths with severe behavioral problems and their parents. Before admission, the youths and their parents have been victims of profound interpersonal events (intergenerational trauma).
The goal of the KINGS treatment model is to offer all family members, both collectively and individually, trauma treatment in a clinical setting, so that they can subsequently reintegrate into society with a healthy foundation. If necessary, with outpatient follow-up treatment. KINGS focuses on both the trauma processing of the child and the parents, as well as on increasing the sensitivity and parenting skills of the parents. The goal of this is for the youth to return safely into a healthy system.
The model consists of three different phases. The parent goes through the same phases as the child, but always stays one phase ahead. This enables the parent to support the child during the treatment. The entire treatment team coaches and supports them in this.
Doctoral research is currently being conducted into the effectiveness of KINGS. In any case, practice is very promising; 95% of the children can continue to live with their biological parents, thereby preventing KINGS from many out-of-home placements. More than 300 families have already been treated since 2008.

About VIGO
In their own words
About the company & team
In total, KINGS Deventer has space for 2 families residing in a linked dwelling. Therefore, there is always another colleague nearby (except at night) with whom you can coordinate. The KINGS treatment focuses on the entire family. Often, there is complex family problematic involving trauma-related complaints. The goals of the family are central to this.
Families are admitted for an average of six weeks to work on breaking patterns through an intensive treatment trajectory. In most cases, trauma treatment is deployed for this, among other things, and work is done towards pedagogical goals. Goals are worked on in a systemic manner, using various methods and protocols. During shifts, you work as an HBO family practitioner individually, but also together, because a colleague is always present for the second family. You can preferably apply cognitive behavioral therapy techniques or are trained in another HBO treatment method for families.
As an HBO family practitioner, you form an extension of the individual therapy. You ensure that the therapy finds its place in the daily actions of parents (and children) and can teach parents pedagogical skills. You stand beside them and make them stronger.
