The role
Do you truly want to make a difference for young people with complex issues? At treatment group Erica, you will get the chance to learn, grow, and make an impact in a close-knit team that works from connection and trust. Step into an internship in which you are challenged to think creatively, take responsibility, and offer young people perspective.
Your internship, your development
At treatment group Erica, it is about connection and creating real moments of contact, not about control. As an intern, you become part of a close-knit team that stands behind the young people, offers a safe environment, and supports one another. You will get the space to learn, discover, and develop yourself in an environment where escalations are rare and where we are proud of our calm, stable approach.
The treatment group functions as a lifeline for young people. During your internship, you will get the chance to contribute creatively and innovatively. We believe in equal relationships with young people and their network, and challenge you to think outside the box. You will learn how we work systemically and how we apply 'Connecting Authority' in our daily practice.
At Erica, we strive for small-scale and customized care, with hybrid and partial stays. That means there is plenty of room for individual attention. You will do your internship within a 24-hour facility, which means you may primarily be scheduled in the evenings, weekends, or during sleep shifts. Naturally, this is in consultation and with an eye for your learning goals and balance.
Requirements
We are looking for an intern who makes a connection with young people with an open mind and sincere interest. Someone who is curious, eager to learn, and not afraid to ask questions or think along about new ideas. You are self-assured, but always remain approachable and respectful. Flexibility is important, because you will work within a 24-hour facility, sometimes also in the evenings or weekends. What we especially value is that you dare to show yourself and work together with young people and colleagues from a position of equality. Additionally, it is also important that:
At the start of the internship, you are in your 3rd or 4th year of an HBO program (e.g., Pedagogy, Social Work, applied psychology, or similar);
Minimum age 20 years (at the start of the internship).
What we offer
We offer an educational internship in which you can optimally develop yourself, both personally and professionally. You will do your internship in a beautiful working environment with an informal and collegial atmosphere, with a team that stands for the target group.
The CAO Jeugdzorg applies. Every intern receives an internship allowance of €625 per month (based on 32 hours per week);
Guidance by a permanent supervisor within the team;
A clear and methodical concept from which guidance and leadership are provided;
Internship period starting from February 2027 for at least 10 months.

About VIGO
In their own words
About the company & team
Treatment group Erica, part of Pactum, offers help to young people aged approximately 14 to 18 with complex attachment and trauma problems. Our unique way of working has already helped many young people who were stuck elsewhere. With us, trauma stabilization is central, and we use effective methodologies such as Connecting Authority and Sleeping Dogs. We create a safe environment in which young people receive numerous opportunities and are allowed to make mistakes. We encourage them to recognize and express emotions, so they do not become overwhelmed.
A strong team spirit prevails at treatment group Erica. New employees receive a thorough induction period, because we understand that the traditional competency model does not work with these young people. Scoring points, punishing, and rewarding belong to the past. We ensure that new employees become familiar with our unique approach and offer additional training if necessary. Working from sincerity and reliability makes the difference and ensures that young people regularly maintain contact.
