The role
At our JeugdzorgPlus location in Zetten, you will work in small-scale groups and get the chance to intensively guide young people in their development. As a Youth Care worker intern, you will learn how to make an impact in a protected environment where peace, structure, and safety are central. Will you come and discover where you can make a difference?
What you'll do
During your internship, you will learn how to guide young people in their daily living situation, both individually and in a group setting. You will develop skills in drafting and implementing treatment plans, collaborating with chain partners, and providing parenting support to parents. You will learn how to function as a mentor for one or more young people and how to discuss and record their progress with those involved.
Additionally, you will learn to work from a systems-theoretical perspective and gain insight into the risks and responsibilities associated with working with this target group. You will receive intensive guidance from experienced youth care workers and will be given the space to grow in your role and develop your professional identity.
Requirements
You can collaborate well in a team and feel comfortable in a group-oriented working environment. You have an affinity for young people who need extra support and you are resilient. It is a plus if you are already familiar with methodologies such as the presence method, contextual assistance, or connecting authority and non-violent resistance. You are curious, eager to learn, and willing to work irregular hours; having your own transport would be useful. You are available for at least 24 hours per week and can intern for an entire school year. You are eager to truly participate in practice and learn from experienced colleagues. Additionally, this is also important:
At the start of the internship, you are in your 3rd or 4th year of an mbo4 program (social worker, social care);
At the start of the internship, you are at least 20 years old, given the intensity of the work and the age of the young people;
You are also available to intern during weekends, holidays, and public holidays.
What we offer
We offer an educational internship in which you can optimally develop yourself, both personally and professionally. You will do your internship in a beautiful working environment with an informal and collegial atmosphere, with a team that stands for the target group.
The CAO Jeugdzorg applies. Every intern receives an internship allowance of €625 per month (based on 32 hours per week);
Guidance by a permanent supervisor within the team;
A clear and methodical concept from which guidance and leadership are provided;
Internship period from … for at least … months.
