Assembly Foreman

The role

As a project specialist, you are responsible for successfully managing one or more of our projects. Your role includes directing, coaching, and supporting production employees, ensuring quality, and monitoring the planned hours per process. Additionally, you ensure a balanced team and train new employees. You coordinate and monitor activities within the production process and provide technical support. Furthermore, you manage inventory and consult with other departments.

• Determining priorities based on the production planning;
• Identifying and solving operational problems and discussing these with the project leader;
• Welcoming, following up with, and training new employees;
• You take care of the workstations and tools and ensure timely replacement or repair;
• You monitor the time registrations of your employees and ensure they are entered correctly;
• You are responsible for the quality control of the production process;
• If necessary, you will also step in yourself to help your employees in production.

Do you have experience with mechatronics? An MBO level 4 education is a plus.

• You are technically minded, work accurately, and strictly follow work procedures;
• Are you able to implement change processes within the department?
• Do you have experience in coaching and managing a (small) team?
• You can communicate excellently with various departments within the organization.
• Are you able to continue performing effectively under time pressure and setbacks?
• Good communication skills in both Dutch and English.

Do you love diversity and do you enjoy working on multidisciplinary projects? VDL Assembly is a young organization and works in small teams on (complex) modules, assemblies, and final assemblies. There is a lot of responsibility placed on the project teams and on the production floor. The company delivers charging stations for the automotive industry, phone charging columns for festivals and public spaces, 3D printers, machines for the pharmaceutical industry, and subsystems for mobile X-ray systems and other medical devices.
