The role
The role
As an Export Control Officer (ECO), you are responsible for ensuring compliance with international export laws and regulations within VDL ETG. You play a key role in executing and improving the Internal Compliance Program (ICP) and are the primary point of contact for export control issues within the organization.
What you'll do
- Performing export control screening on customers, suppliers, countries, and transactions
- Classifying products and technology according to relevant regulations (ECN/ECCN)
- Applying for, managing, and monitoring export licenses and associated obligations
- Securing and maintaining export control data and registrations in systems (including ERP)
- Advising internal stakeholders (Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Logistics) on compliance and risks
- Monitoring laws and regulations and translating them into policies, processes, and work instructions
- Performing audits, reporting (including CDIU), and providing training and awareness within the organization
Your strength
- HBO/WO working and thinking level
- Knowledge of or affinity with export control legislation (EU Dual-use, sanctions, US regulations)
- Experience with compliance, international trade, or supply chain is a plus
- Strong analytical skills and an accurate way of working
- Good communication skills (Dutch and English)
- Proactive attitude and a sense of responsibility
