Work Preparer/Project Coordinator
You arrange it before anything can go wrong outside. A project that starts outdoors in sixteen weeks might seem far away. But it is precisely during that period that the difference is made.

Who we are looking for
You know your trade and enjoy working together with others on a project that you see grow from the outside. You can work independently and take responsibility for the quality of your work. Safety is your highest priority in doing so. You communicate easily, listen well, and coordinate with others so that everyone knows where they stand.
You love it when work progresses and you contribute to that yourself. If things go differently than expected, you remain calm and think along for a suitable solution. You understand that you have to do it together, especially when the moment of commissioning approaches. Furthermore:
What we offer
At SWARCO, we believe a new job should offer more than just an attractive salary or an engaging project. We believe the whole picture must be right. That is why we offer you a varied and challenging position, where you can work on cool projects that truly matter. From day one, we provide an extensive onboarding process. Your growth and development are a top priority for us; therefore, you will be given the space to follow both internal and external training and education. What else you receive based on full-time employment:
As a traffic control systems technician at SWARCO, you work on the installation and conversion of traffic control systems. From a bicycle or pedestrian crossing to a large intersection with multiple linked control cabinets. You handle the electrotechnical assembly work on the external installation and the connections in the traffic controller. In addition, you work on traffic lights, push buttons, cabling, and the connection of detection loops, among other things.
You work from electrotechnical diagrams and coordinate your activities with the other technicians and subcontractors on site. You mount components to masts and portals and connect the cables on both sides. The groundwork and the installation of detection loops are carried out by specialized parties. Their activities and your assembly work run partly alongside each other and must connect well.
Usually, you work within a fixed team. The supervisor discusses with you what needs to happen and when the installation must be ready. Within those agreements, you determine the division of work and the sequence of activities together. Depending on your experience, you can also assist subcontractors on site and coordinate activities with them.
The moment of commissioning largely determines the course of the project. The client, the supplier of the traffic controller, and other involved parties coordinate their efforts accordingly. Sometimes a temporary installation is also removed on that same day. That requires good preparation and precise execution. In case of setbacks, it may be necessary to work longer, with safety and quality remaining leading principles.
You work from a fixed branch on projects in the region. Where necessary, you support a team in another region together with a colleague. If there is temporarily less traffic control system project work, you can also assist with projects in public lighting.
“We agree on what needs to happen and when the installation goes into operation. How you divide the work and approach it, you arrange together.”
The installation goes into operation on Thursday. On Monday, you begin the conversion. The schedule is fixed, the activities are coordinated, and together with your crew, you work towards that one moment. You know the connections in the cabinet, the cabling to the outside, and the assembly work on the masts. As a traffic control systems technician at SWARCO, you see a project take shape from up close. From the first assembly work to the commissioning. That gives you a different feeling when you later stand in front of the red light yourself.
