The role
Are you someone who loves to bring structure to complex projects and knows how to maintain an overview? As a System Engineer, you play a crucial role in demonstrating that our projects meet all specified requirements. You help the project team establish the link between requirements and evidence – think of drawings, test results, or execution documentation – so that we can clearly substantiate to our client that we are delivering what has been agreed upon.
In addition, you are the driving force behind the use of our project control system: Relatics. You manage and optimize the system, ensure that team members know how to correctly record their evidence and documentation, and monitor the full traceability from requirements to execution. Thanks to your commitment, the verification process runs in a structured, clear manner and without surprises – exactly as it should be for complex, technical projects.
Strukton Infra Specials (SIS) develops and realizes complex infrastructure projects within the fields of rail-civil, tunnels, and hydraulic engineering. We specialize in project management and multidisciplinary collaboration. Our projects include, among others, the energy-neutral Delft Campus Station, the renovation of Amsterdam Centraal Station, and the technical realization and maintenance of the Hubertustunnel in The Hague. Additionally, we work on water safety projects such as Nieuwe Werken Zoutkamp and play a key role in the renovation and replacement of existing structures in the Netherlands.
We work circularly and with a focus on extending service life, with an eye for climate change and resource scarcity. Thanks to more than 100 years of experience, we combine craftsmanship and innovation with a human- and client-oriented approach. Our project teams work closely together in an open, informal atmosphere. Quality, sustainability, and job satisfaction are central, and we regularly organize meetings to share knowledge and connect colleagues.
As a System Engineer, you will become part of the Project Control department, a team of 20 colleagues, including 6 System Engineers. Together, you work on diverse and challenging projects. Each System Engineer is linked to specific projects and ensures that the project team demonstrably meets all client requirements.
What you'll do
Your main responsibilities are:
- Translating client documentation into Relatics: importing and structuring documents, requirements, and question-and-answer lists from the client into the Relatics environment, so that they are usable within the project.
- Setting up and managing the Relatics database: ensuring that the Relatics system is well-configured, functions correctly, and remains up to date throughout the project. Where necessary, you make project-specific additions to this database.
- Monitoring project information and progress: you actively maintain control over the required information, coordinate with project members, and ensure that all input for verification is available in a timely and complete manner to provide reliable reports to the client.
- Performing analyses and identifying impact: you perform analyses on requirements, documents, and tender responses, and assess their impact on the project and the products to be delivered.
- Delivering verification reports to the client: as soon as all information is complete, you generate clear verification reports with accompanying documents to demonstrate that client and project requirements have been met.
Functie-eisen
As a System Engineer, you possess a structured and process-oriented way of working. You know how to organize complex information clearly and follow fixed steps to ensure the traceability of requirements. Thanks to your communication skills, you can easily address team members regarding their input and guide them in the use of Relatics. You ensure that Relatics is optimally configured and managed. Finally, you collaborate well, maintain an overview, and ensure that information is available in a timely and complete manner to deliver reliable reports.
