Senior Civil Engineering Designer

· At least 3 years of experience in civil engineering design.

· Extensive knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D (corridors, surfaces, alignments, grading, pipe-networks).

· Experience with AutoCAD at a professional level

· Experience with civil engineering designs: sewage, roads, terrain models, structures environments

· Knowledge and insight into design principles, standards, and guidelines (CROW, NEN, civil engineering standards)

· Familiarity with BIM processes, IFC exchange, and design levels

· Familiar with RAW methodology and the extraction of quantities

We are Unihorn, a nationally operating research, design, and consultancy firm that provides solutions for challenges in Infrastructure and Public Space. Based on the idea that what is conceived must also be feasible and maintainable, we are the link between research, advice, design, and management. We operate integrally from our offices in Purmerend, Capelle aan den IJssel, Hengelo, and Breda.

Within the Infra Design team, covering the areas of design and surveying & monitoring, various civil engineering challenges are worked out. You will perform your tasks at our Hengelo location. Projects are prepared through to execution, going through all associated phases. Design support within integrated contract forms for our clients, including the affiliated contracting company of Strukton, plays an important role in this.

As a Senior AutoCAD-Civil3D Designer, you are responsible for the independent development of civil engineering designs within the civil engineering public space. You translate technical challenges into high-quality 2D and 3D designs and act as a technical specialist within the design team. Your activities include:

· Independent modeling of civil designs in AutoCAD-Civil3D

· Preparing 2D and 3D designs for, among others, roads, sewage systems, waterways, profiles, and site layouts

· Creating 3D models, cross-sections, longitudinal profiles, DTMs, and BIM models

· Preparing drawings, revisions, and design information according to project agreements

· Coordinating with project leaders, design leaders, and disciplines such as geotechnics and traffic

· Checking drawings and models from colleagues

· Preparation of specification drawings and quantities (RAW)

· Verifying & validating design requirements within and outside integrated contracts such as construction teams and/or UAV-gc

· Contributing to the optimization of work processes and potentially by writing scripts in Dynamo.
