Junior Metadata Specialist

As a Junior Metadata Specialist, you ensure that data within Stedin is reliable, understandable, and optimally usable. In this way, you enable smart decision-making for the energy transition.

• You will work on one of the greatest societal challenges in the Netherlands: the energy transition.
• You will get the chance to play an important role in the further professionalization of data management within Stedin.
• You will work together with experts in the fields of data governance, AI, reporting, data quality, and data science.

At Stedin, important decisions are made daily based on data. As a Junior Metadata Specialist, you ensure that colleagues understand, trust, and use this data in the correct way. You help establish definitions, secure knowledge, and make metadata insightful. Additionally, you support the further development of the Data Marketplace, so that data products are secure, findable, and accessible. With this, you contribute directly to a future-proof energy grid and a data-driven organization.

• You start the day with a session in which you, together with colleagues, sharpen the definitions of KPIs, reports, and data fields.
• You dive into a question regarding a report and investigate the origin, meaning, and quality of the underlying data.
• You work on expanding the Data Marketplace so that colleagues can easily find and use the right data products.
• You develop training materials and guide colleagues in recording and managing metadata within their teams.
• You end your day by exploring possibilities to further increase the reliability and findability of data and discuss opportunities for further professionalization of data management with stakeholders.

• A salary between € 4,371.44 and € 6,085.83 gross per month based on 40 hours per week.
• On top of your salary, you receive a personal budget of 24% (including 8% holiday allowance). You choose what to do with the budget: for example, extra salary or (up to max. 35.5) vacation days. You can see how it works in our calculation tool.
• €700 per year (gross) to spend on your own energy, for example on a sports subscription or your new sportswear.

• Hybrid working with a good balance between home and the office.
• Modern home-working facilities and a home-working allowance of 2.40 euros per day. At Stedin, we work 50% in the office and 50% at home.
• Travel to the office via the public transport free-travel scheme. This is a public transport card that you can also use in your free time. Or with the flexible travel scheme, where you choose, combine, and vary how you travel to work yourself and receive an extra allowance if you come by bicycle.

You are analytically strong, work accurately, and know how to make complex information understandable for various stakeholders. Additionally, you are proactive, connecting, and get energy from improving processes, collaboration, and data-driven working within the organization.

• A completed HBO (higher professional education) degree, preferably in the direction of Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Management, or similar.
• Up to 2 years of work experience in a similar or comparable environment. Experience with metadata management, data governance, and data management platforms such as Collibra, Informatica, or Ataccama.
• Available at least 32 hours per week (36 or 40 hours is also possible).
