The role

Your energy in the plus

Connect strategy and operations to deploy smart measures. As a capacity coordinator, you keep the energy grid safe and available in a rapidly changing system.

Why working at Stedin gives you energy:

  • A role in which you take initiative yourself and make the translation between strategy and tactical and/or operational solutions.
  • Hybrid working as intended: the freedom to work from home and yet remain connected to your team at the office.
  • More freedom in your compensation: 24% personal budget for extra salary, leave, or other choices that suit you

Work to be proud of

In the capacity chain, hard work is being done to offer as much transport capacity as possible to customers, while the grids remain safe and available. As capacity coordinator operations, you translate strategic choices into tactical and operational measures for operations. You maintain an overview of bottlenecks on the grid and coordinate the preparation of measures in collaboration with colleagues and chain partners. You do this so that operational risks remain manageable in an energy system that is changing rapidly.

A day as a capacity coordinator operations:

  • With a cup of coffee, you start the day with operations colleagues to discuss the status of capacity bottlenecks in a region.
  • Next, you find out which bottlenecks are expected within a year and review which measures from operations are necessary and feasible.
  • In the afternoon, you join the congestion managers and area managers from Asset Management to coordinate which tactical-operational approach fits within the area strategy.
  • After that, you prepare project-based incidental measures, such as the temporary placement of batteries if there is insufficient flexibility.
  • You end the day by developing and coordinating proposals to mitigate risks that are not covered by standard or structural measures.

Here is how you recharge

All financial employment conditions at a glance, so you know exactly what to expect:

  • A gross monthly salary of up to € 7,000 (based on 40 hours), 24.5 vacation days, and pension accrual with ABP, where we pay 70% of the premium.
  • On top of your salary, you receive a personal budget of 24% (including 8% holiday allowance). You choose what to do with the budget: for example, extra salary or (up to max. 35.5) vacation days. You can see how it works in our calculation tool.
  • € 700 (gross) annually as a Sustainable Employability budget to spend on your own energy, for example, for your gym membership or your new sportswear.

On top of that, there is this:

  • Modern home working facilities and a home working allowance. According to our Stedin@Work concept, you work 50% at home and 50% at the office.
  • You travel to the office using the public transport free-access scheme. This is a public transport card that you can also use in your free time. Or with the flexible travel scheme, where you choose, combine, and vary how you travel to work and receive an extra allowance if you come by bicycle.
  • Your development is central: attending events with colleagues, participating in knowledge sessions, and following courses and training. This is how you get the best out of yourself.

Moving forward with energy with the Capacity & Congestion Monitoring team

From day one, you are part of the Capacity & Congestion Monitoring team within the Operations Center. There, you work closely with the operational specialist operations, who is your fixed sparring partner both on content and at the office.

From this position, you will get to know the entire operations and the other departments and layers in the capacity chain very well. The lines are short and collaboration with colleagues is central to having bottlenecks on the grid in view in a timely manner and addressing them. In the department, it is clear that we want to go for it together; dealing smartly with the increasingly full electricity network. Super challenging. We help each other, think along, and are open to new insights. We find a good, personal atmosphere very important. After all, we have to do it together.

With these qualities, you will grow here

Switching quickly in a complex environment suits you well. You connect technical experts, administrators, and policymakers and know how to translate analyses into concrete plans that are executable in practice. Organizing, taking initiative, and achieving results through collaboration give you energy.

Furthermore, you have:

  • A completed HBO (higher professional education) degree, preferably at the intersection of technology and business administration.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an advisory and coordinating role, preferably in the energy sector.
  • Extensive experience as a project manager in a technical environment.

Take the step to your next challenge
We look forward to meeting you.

This is also good to know:

  • You may include a cover letter, but it is not required.
  • This position is for 40 hours. 32/36 hours is also possible.
