Data Governance Specialist

• Completed university (WO) or HBO level of working and thinking.

• Experience and knowledge of DAMA DMBoK and/or related frameworks.

• Three years of relevant work experience in the role of data management specialist or data architect.

• Ambition to contribute to the digital strategy by improving the quality of our data.

• Knowledge of and experience with metadata management, data modeling, data quality, and associated tooling.

Salary per month:
Based on collective labor agreement (CAO) scale 16 HAY, the range is € 5,082.02 to € 6,776.03 based on 36 hours.

• You bring all stakeholders together to ensure that the execution of data management goes well through presentations and working sessions.

• You contribute to drafting a vision on data governance and specifically on concepts such as a data mesh (or centralization instead).

• Additionally, you also contribute to defining data products and data democratization.

• You enjoy taking on the challenge of applying data governance principles in a changing environment, including through the rise of GenAI and market developments such as the WTP law.

• You are responsible for setting up and maintaining processes and standards regarding data management, with an emphasis on metadata management, data lineage, data modeling, and data quality.

• Together with the data stewards, you are constantly busy monitoring, adjusting, and improving the quality of the data.

• You facilitate the drafting of data requirements, definitions, data models, and also the semantic data lineage.

• You work together with our IT Data Management team to ensure that we have the right data management tooling available and in use.

As a Data Governance Specialist, you will be part of the Digital Strategy, Architecture & Innovation unit within Technology & Operations, together with the Data Management Lead. This department consists of approximately 20 eager and experienced professionals and is responsible for enterprise and domain architecture, AI, and innovation, in addition to data management. You will work at the intersection of data, business, and IT on the future of Athora and its great ambitions to become the data-driven digital pension insurer of the Netherlands.

You play a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity, quality, and accessibility of our data. You are responsible for implementing and maintaining our robust data governance framework and data management standards and processes. Here, the priority lies on data quality and effective metadata management.
