The role

Are you an all-round pediatrician looking for a challenging position? Then we would love to get in touch with you!

Due to absence in our group, we are looking for a locum on short notice.

As a pediatrician within St Jansdal, you will practice pediatric medicine to its full extent. We are a medium-sized hospital without resident doctors, so you truly get to perform all tasks yourself! However, we do supervise medical students, HAIOs (doctors in training for general practice), and a physician specializing in pediatric atopy.

How you'll work

In the role of pediatrician, you will be deployed for all shifts (day, evening, night, and weekend). In principle, we are looking for someone for an appointment of 0.7-0.8 FTE who can start as soon as possible. However, we are also happy to discuss cases of less (or more) availability.

Requirements

A temporary contract for at least 12 months.
The salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Medical Specialists' Employment Conditions Regulation (AMS).

About the company & team

The pediatric department currently consists of 12 enthusiastic and committed pediatricians, a locum, a PA, and a physician in training for atopy, with an eye for innovation within the field and a good team spirit. In addition to general pediatrics, each of us maintains one or more specific areas of interest or subspecialties. Alongside the cornerstones of our practice (general pediatrics, emergency care, and neonatal care) and our spearhead, pediatric cardiology, there are also several major areas of focus: atopic syndrome, neonatology, and pediatric neurology & development, as well as some smaller ones: pediatric endocrinology, pediatric nephrology/urology, and infectiology/immunology. Furthermore, the department is involved in administrative and hospital functions.

The ward has 21 beds and 10 incubator suites. The wards, the outpatient clinic, and the ER are well-equipped and child-friendly. The pediatricians are supported by a number of specialized nurses (asthma, eczema, incontinence, emergency pediatric nurse), an outpatient atopy physician, a clinical neonatal PA, and a psychosocial team. A team of specifically trained ER doctors provides significant support to us in emergency care.

There are monthly consultation hours by a clinical geneticist (UMC Utrecht) and a pediatric rehabilitation physician (Vogellanden, Zwolle). There is standardized consultation with pediatric urologists and pediatric cardiologists (UMC Utrecht). The hospital enjoys very good collaborative relationships between the various specialties.

Our clinics are distributed across the locations Harderwijk, Lelystad, and Dronten. Clinical care and emergency care are exclusively at the location in Harderwijk.
