Do you want to work at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and ICT? Do you get energy from medical technology that must function safely, availably, and reliably for patient care? And do you want to develop yourself within a field in which medical equipment, clinical ICT, quality, and safety are increasingly converging?
Come work with us as a Medical Technician / Medical Technologist.
As a Medical Technician / Medical Technologist, you make a direct contribution to safe and continuously available medical technology within the hospital. You work on the technical management of medical equipment and medical systems throughout the entire lifecycle: from procurement and introduction to maintenance, troubleshooting, modification, instruction, and ultimately replacement or disposal.
Depending on your knowledge, experience, and development level, you will work at the level of Medical Technician (MT4) or grow towards Medical Technologist (MT5). In doing so, you will develop from independent performing and coordinating work towards a more advisory, project-based, and policy-oriented role within the field of medical technology.
Within this position, you work on medical technology that is essential for safe and efficient patient care. Your activities focus on the following result areas:
You manage and monitor the availability, safety, quality, and continuity of medical equipment, medical systems, and associated clinical ICT applications.
You perform preventive maintenance, inspections, calibrations, quality controls, and repairs according to applicable protocols, standards, and safety regulations.
You analyze malfunctions and incidents, set priorities, and ensure an appropriate solution with minimal impact on the care process.
You register activities, measurement results, malfunctions, and maintenance completely and carefully in the designated systems.
You support users in the safe and efficient use of medical technology through instruction, information, and advice.
You think along about the replacement, redeployment, and procurement of medical technology and translate user wishes into appropriate medical-technical solutions.
You provide a substantive contribution to risk analyses, requirements programs, trial placements, implementation plans, and advisory reports.
You participate in multidisciplinary projects regarding the procurement, introduction, optimization, or replacement of medical equipment and systems.
You collaborate with care departments, ICT, procurement, medical specialists, suppliers, and external maintenance parties.
You contribute to quality and safety by signaling deviations, making improvement suggestions, and updating procedures or working methods.
At the MT4 level, the emphasis lies on independent execution, coordination, and monitoring of technical management, maintenance, instruction, and quality activities within one or more areas of focus.
At the MT5 level, the emphasis shifts to project management, policy-based advisory, quality assurance, modification issues, multidisciplinary coordination, and coaching colleagues.
Within this position, you will primarily work from Harderwijk and regularly at our location in Lelystad.
A completed technical education at mbo+/hbo level, for example in biomedical technology, medical technology, electrical engineering, mechatronics, ICT, or a similar field.
Knowledge of or demonstrable affinity with medical equipment, medical systems, and clinical ICT.
Preferably education or willingness to obtain MTA, MTB, and/or MTC.
Knowledge of relevant standards, laws and regulations, safety requirements, and quality guidelines regarding medical technology, or the willingness to develop in this area.
Experience with maintenance, fault analysis, calibration, inspection, documentation, and release of technical equipment is a plus.
Affinity with clinical ICT, for example HL7, DICOM, SQL, Windows Server, medical software, or system connections, or the willingness to develop in this area.
Good communication skills towards users, colleagues, suppliers, and external parties.
The ability to clearly record technical information in reports, manuals, procedures, or project documentation.
Willingness to work on-call or standby shifts.
Good command of the Dutch language and sufficient command of the English language to read technical documentation and communicate with suppliers.
For candidates growing towards Medical Technologist, we also ask for demonstrable development in the areas of project-based working, quality assurance, advisory, multidisciplinary cooperation, and taking ownership of complex issues.
A one-year contract for 32 to 36 hours per week, with the intention to convert this to a permanent contract in the event of good performance and unchanged organizational circumstances.
A position within a socially relevant and technically challenging field, in which your work directly contributes to safe patient care.
Depending on your education, experience, and development level, you will be scaled within the appropriate job track from Medical Technician to Medical Technologist.
A transparent development path in which you can grow based on demonstrable results, role development, independence, and level of responsibility.
Space to further develop through education, professional training, and the St Jansdal Academy.
A salary in accordance with the Ziekenhuizen (Hospitals) collective labor agreement, depending on education and experience, including holiday allowance and year-end bonus. FWG 45 – 55 depending on position.
Pension accrual at Pensioenfonds Zorg & Welzijn.
Interesting extras, including a discount on your health insurance premium, company fitness, and the Meer Keuze Arbeidsvoorwaarden (More Choice Employment Conditions) scheme.
