What we're looking for

You are alert and quickly notice when a situation deviates from what is normal. You can assess information well, dare to make decisions, and remain calm and careful even during incidents. You enjoy working together, but can act independently when necessary.

Additionally:

you are stress-resistant, decisive, and accurate;
you communicate clearly both orally and in writing;
you are proficient with computers and digital systems;
you are willing to work in uniform and according to fixed procedures;
you are flexibly deployable in a full continuous roster with early, late, and night shifts, spread across seven days per week.
You are familiar with the Hague region and have an affinity with public transport.

Education & certifications

Mbo-3 or mbo-4 work and thinking level.
An mbo diploma in Security, or the willingness to obtain this diploma.
Good command of the Dutch language, orally and in writing.
Good digital skills.
The possibility to provide a Certificate of Conduct (VOG).

We offer you a challenging and independent full-time/part-time position in and around the beautiful city of The Hague. The position is rewarded in salary group 5 of the HTM CAO with a corresponding salary between € 2,431.- and € 4,315.- gross per month for a full-time employment. On top of your salary, you receive an allowance for working irregular hours.

The role

Do you want to contribute to a safe journey for thousands of travelers every day? Can you remain calm when a lot is happening at once and do you dare to make decisions? Then we are looking for you as a CCTV Monitoring and Surveillance Operator.

What you'll do

As a CCTV Monitoring and Surveillance Operator (CBT), you contribute to the social safety of our travelers and employees. You work from the CCTV monitoring room and, when necessary, supervise stops and stations within the HTM transport area.

From the CCTV monitoring room, you monitor the daily passenger service. You observe camera footage from vehicles and from stops, stations, and tunnels. You recognize deviating, threatening, or unsafe situations and take the correct action according to the applicable procedures.

In the event of incidents and emergencies:

you quickly analyze what is happening;
you inform the appropriate HTM colleagues;
you call in the police, fire department, ambulance, or other emergency services if necessary;
you carefully record events and measures taken;
you support the handling of the incident.

You can also be deployed on location. There, you maintain an overview, take the necessary measures within your responsibility, and work closely with colleagues and emergency services. Even when pressure increases, you remain calm, act decisively, and communicate clearly.

Additionally, you support competent authorities in securing and providing camera footage for investigations. In doing so, you work carefully and strictly adhere to the applicable privacy rules and procedures.

Furthermore, you contribute to:

the detection and help in preventing vandalism, aggression, and other safety risks;
the issuance, intake, and registration of operational tools;
checking the usability of these tools;
compliance with rules regarding safety, health, and the environment.
