The role

What you'll do

As an Assistant Vehicle Mechanic, you will work in the Vehicles department. This department is responsible for the management and maintenance of over 400 vehicles (trams, buses, and company cars) at various locations. You assist with scheduled maintenance and vehicle breakdowns. In this role, the focus lies on assisting the maintenance mechanic. You work on components, assist with projects, and together with your colleagues, you contribute to the optimal availability of our vehicles.

You will be part of an experienced team of professionals and will work in our maintenance workshop. Together with the team of maintenance mechanics, you support preventive maintenance on the vehicles.

The duties consist of assistance during periodic inspections, assistance in performing various repairs, vehicle overhauls, and cleaning of components. These activities are primarily mechanical in nature. You record information about the work performed, including hours and materials, in the system. Improvement plans for vehicle maintenance are generated from this system. With this, you make an important contribution to the availability and reliability of our vehicles.
