This job advert was originally written in Dutch.
· You have an MBO 2 or 3 diploma, preferably in mechanical engineering, automotive technology, or mechatronics.
· You have previously worked in a technical environment.
· You are not color blind.
· You can work well with computers (work orders and time registration are all digital).
We offer you a challenging and independent full-time/part-time position in and around the beautiful city of The Hague. The position is rewarded in salary group 4 of the HTM CAO with a corresponding salary between €3,154 and €4,150 gross per month (excluding irregular hours allowance) based on full-time employment.
In addition, you can count on excellent employment conditions, including: 'Company Public Transport' (traveling in our transport area at a highly reduced rate, for yourself, your partner, and your children), an end-of-year bonus, buying, selling, or saving leave, and an extensive package of study facilities to keep you developing: at HTM, you're in good hands!
As a maintenance mechanic at HTM, you and your colleagues will ensure the maintenance and reliability of our trams. You will perform scheduled maintenance tasks, resolve minor malfunctions, and contribute to the optimal availability of our vehicles.
You will be involved in the maintenance of various tram components, including bogies. A bogie consists of, among other things, wheels, axles, motors, and braking systems, and forms an essential part of the tram. For maintenance, the bogies are removed from under the tram and brought to the workshop. Using a lifting construction, you place them on your workbench, where you perform inspections, measurements, and maintenance work. In this way, you might check and record the wear of wheel flanges, for example, and contribute to the timely replacement or overhaul of parts.
In addition to work on bogies, you will also perform other mechanical maintenance tasks. You will inspect components, perform checks and measurements, and replace parts when necessary. You will also be involved in resolving minor malfunctions. Currently, you will work mainly on trams. In the future, it is possible that you will also perform work on our electric buses.
You will digitally record all performed work, hours worked, and materials used in our maintenance system. Therefore, some computer skills are useful. The information from this system helps us to continuously improve maintenance and increase the availability and reliability of our vehicles.
In addition, we expect you to look beyond just performing the scheduled tasks. For example, do you notice that a filter that must be replaced every month according to the maintenance plan is still hardly dirty? Then you report this to your colleagues. They can then investigate whether the maintenance interval can be adjusted, so that the filter, for example, only needs to be replaced once every two months. In this way, with your technical knowledge and practical experience, you actively contribute to smarter maintenance plans and reliable public transport.
We are looking for a practical and motivated colleague who loves to roll up their sleeves. You enjoy working with technology and have no trouble with tasks that are carried out according to fixed procedures and regularly recurring maintenance plans.
Furthermore:
· You are a go-getter, a real doer! You don't like to sit still.
· You are naturally customer- and quality-oriented.
· Our core values of Honesty, Unity, and Individual Responsibility are self-evident to you.
· You have the drive to do things a little better every day.
· You have a positive attitude and take your colleagues along with you.
· If there is something, we say it in a Hague manner, just as you can appreciate feedback directed towards you.
An assessment may be part of the selection procedure. During the application process, we will ask you to provide your diploma so that we can verify it. It may also occur that we ask you to provide one or more references.
