The Vehicles department is set up to ensure the availability and reliability of our trams, buses, and supporting assets. Vehicle management plays an important role in this. Asset management is assigned to the Vehicle Management Manager. Together with the maintenance engineers and technical specialists, they support colleagues in operations with their expertise. The 9 technical specialists, with specialisms in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering within Vehicle Management, are responsible for the technical integrity of the trams and buses. They engineer modifications, analyze complex faults, investigate cost reductions, or prepare maintenance.
The technical advisor is a new role within this team. In addition to technical knowledge regarding reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety, you naturally hold authority, making you a go-to person for fellow technical specialists. You act as their heat shield and ensure that your colleagues can work effectively. The Vehicle Management Manager is the hierarchical supervisor and holds the role of asset manager. You are the sparring partner of the manager and the undisputed technical authority within the technical domain.
You are functionally responsible for the technical specialists and, as a specialist, are a natural go-to person within the technical domain. From your role, you guarantee the assurance of quality, compliance, and consistency in technical decision-making.
What else you will do:
· Assessing and ensuring Proposals for Changes (a core process within Vehicle Management) and further developing the PFC process.
· Setting up, executing, and improving configuration management.
· Directing the handling and follow-up of safety reports.
· Stimulating and structuring technical innovation.
· Contributing to the Asset Management Plan and Strategic Asset Management Plan.
· Continuously improving asset performance.
· Guiding initiatives to fulfill the ambition to outsource more work.
· Realizing cost reduction/optimization within the technical domain.
· Actively maintaining and applying relevant laws, regulations, and standards, and ensuring these are correctly implemented in processes, specifications, and technical choices.
You are someone who naturally seeks collaboration. You love being given space and know how to handle it well. There is a lot to do in this new role: you are a doer and like to take initiative. You have a great capacity for self-starting, see opportunities for improvement, and act on them.
· You have demonstrable HBO/WO (higher professional/university) working and thinking levels.
· You are a versatile specialist with in-depth knowledge of both mechanical and electrical engineering.
· You write easily and have experience in drafting advisory reports.
· You have extensive relevant work experience, for example in Public Transport or Automotive.
· You possess excellent oral and written skills in the Dutch and English languages.
· Knowledge of and experience with ISO55001 is a plus
· Knowledge of the German language is a plus
