Senior Project Manager – Maritime Steel Projects

• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager within maritime, offshore, civil or heavy steel projects.

• Proven experience delivering large projects in an operational or production-driven environment.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• A proactive and solution-oriented mindset.

• A technical background (HBO/Bachelor level or higher).

• Excellent command of English and Dutch.

• Willingness to travel internationally and work abroad for short to medium periods.

• A one-year contract with the intention to transition to a permanent, full-time position.

As Senior Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for large and complex steel projects, such as dry docks and large pontoon constructions. You manage the project from contract handover through to final delivery.

You act as the central point of contact for clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment on scope, planning, budget, risks, and quality. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on project execution and regular site presence worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• End-to-end responsibility for project delivery (scope, planning, budget, quality and risk).

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams across engineering, production, procurement and quality.

• Manage internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers and subcontractors.

• Monitor progress, identify risks and issues, and take timely corrective actions.

• Report on project status and escalate when required.

• Ensure compliance with Damen standards, contractual requirements and safety regulations.

• Visit and support production sites worldwide during key project phases.
