IHC Smit B.V., part of Royal IHC, realizes technically complex projects for the dredging, mining, defense, and offshore industries. Our projects vary greatly in scale and complexity: from a few hundred thousand to tens of millions of euros and from a few months to several years.

As a Project Manager, you will receive responsibility for multidisciplinary projects in which mechanics, hydraulics, electrical engineering, and software converge. You will work intensively with customers, suppliers, and colleagues both domestically and abroad.

You will join an experienced project management team of five Project Managers, supported by a Planner and Document Controller. The atmosphere is professional and informal, with plenty of room for ownership and responsibility.

As a Project Manager, you are responsible for technically complex, international projects from the tender phase to successful delivery. You lead multidisciplinary project teams and monitor planning, budget, quality, and contractual agreements.

At the same time, you are an important point of contact for the customer. You know how to bring technical, commercial, and organizational interests together and maintain an overview even in challenging phases.

In doing so, you look beyond just the planning. You recognize project risks as well as commercial opportunities, steer towards the financial result, and know when action is needed to keep a project successful.

• Leading technically complex projects with a scale of € 3 million to € 20 million, including international components.
• Drafting, executing, and monitoring project plans, budgets, and contractual agreements.
• Assembling, leading, and connecting multidisciplinary project teams.
• Monitoring project margins, financial progress, changes, and contractual obligations.
• Identifying and managing project risks and commercial opportunities.
• Recognizing and commercially exploiting changes and additional work within projects.
• Maintaining intensive customer relationships and effectively managing internal and external stakeholders.
• Reporting on progress, finances, risks, and quality to management.
• Contributing to tenders and strategic project proposals.
