The role

Do you want to make a difference for youth with a disability? Then come work in a neighborhood team in Rotterdam on behalf of MEE Rotterdam Rijnmond.

What you'll do

As a youth and family coach, you will work in a Rotterdam neighborhood team specializing in youth with a disability. An engaging job in a (sometimes) complex working environment. You will deal with all forms of metropolitan issues. Together with the parents and with the family's network, you will search for the right help for the child. Working in the neighborhood team means you will work with families where multiple issues are playing out across various areas of life. Think of parenting questions, debts, or school dropout.

From the neighborhood team, you will initially offer basic help to the family. If this is not sufficient, you will call in specialist or long-term support. You will be responsible for drawing up arrangements under the Youth Act. You will perform case management and lay out the lines of support in close cooperation with other caregivers.

Our colleague Kenosha would love to tell you more about what her work involves as a youth and family coach:

What do we ask?

As a Youth and Family Coach for MEE, you are or will become an expert in the field of working with young people with a disability. We expect you to apply your knowledge, skills, and motivation to the vulnerable target group: youth with a disability.

As an employee of MEE, you always stand beside the client; you look at what someone can do themselves. You support the strengthening of the social network around the client, with the aim of strengthening the client's own strength.

You are SKJ-registered, or you can register in the short term. To achieve SKJ registration in the short term, we will look at the possibilities together. For example, we have an accredited practical program with the SKJ.

Finally

You will receive an extensive onboarding program in which:

  • You become acquainted with our mission, vision, and expertise in our 'Welcome to MEE program'.

  • You will be paired with a practical coach (colleague).

  • You will regularly attend intervision meetings.

  • You follow various trainings and courses.

  • After completion, you can call yourself a fully qualified MEE expert.
