Would you like to do an internship at the communications department of the social collective De Piergroep?
At De Piergroep, we choose connection as the way forward. A positive movement that provides direction to everything we do. It is our answer to the fragmentation we see all around us. We believe it must be different and can be different. We believe that social issues require more connection and collaboration.
De Piergroep therefore forms a social collective with four other foundations: MEE Rotterdam Rijnmond, Minters, Scala Jeugdprofessionals, and Wijkcentra Vlaardingen. Each from their own expertise, the foundations pool their strengths and work across domains on solutions that truly align with the needs of people and communities. From their lived experience, we look at what they need, and from their strength, we look at how we can empower them. That is how we move forward together.
In this way, MEE RR supports people with a disability so that everyone can participate in society, Scala Jeugdprofessionals offers youth care to young people and families, and Minters strengthens the position of local residents by working on strong neighborhoods.
As an intern in our Communications department, you will be closely involved in all kinds of different projects for the foundations that are part of the social collective. You will work alternately at our office in Rotterdam or Vlaardingen, or for a part of the day at home.
You will help, among other things, with developing content for social media. This is an important part of, among other things, our labor market communications. In this, you will play an important role in coming up with new ideas and creating visual and textual content (e.g., via Canva); in short, increasing the online presence of the foundations.
But just as important is the internal communication via the intranet (Sharepoint), where news items must regularly be posted on behalf of various supporting departments such as Finance, ICT, and HR. Finally, you will also help with the organization of (especially) internal and external meetings.
Internal and external communication: your support in developing communication expressions (drafting text and producing imagery). Intranet is an important channel for our internal communication (Sharepoint). But frequent email newsletters must also be designed in Spotler.
Content creation: you come up with creative ideas for visual content (e.g., posts, stories, videos) that appeal to our target groups.
Producing visual expressions: You are proficient with Canva and help with making various expressions (whether or not via a template). For social media but also for the website and intranet. Think of news posts, banners, or vacancy expressions, but also videos and photos.
Social Media: You support the posting and scheduling of content (via the content calendar) on our social media channels (particularly Instagram, LinkedIn), so that the foundations are and remain visible and relevant in the online world.
Organization of internal and external meetings: you are co-responsible for the organization of meetings. From invitation (email newsletter) to registration (online form) and arranging meeting rooms to the catering.
You are following a degree in the direction of Communications, but Media (design) or a similar direction is also an option.
You have a passion for communication and social media and can create content yourself.
You are up to date with the latest trends and have experience with Canva and/or Adobe (or are open to learning it).
You have a good command of the Dutch language, both orally and in writing.
You are creative, proactive, and socially oriented. And you are also flexible and eager to learn.
Educational internship: you work for four different organizations in the social domain. You work in a small and cozy team and get the chance to further develop your communication and social media skills.
Responsibility and creative freedom: you will receive your own tasks and the space to bring in your ideas and creativity.
Guidance: you will be guided by experienced professionals from whom you can learn the ropes of the trade and who give you the space to experiment yourself.
Internship allowance: You will receive an appropriate internship allowance according to our collective labor agreement (cao) Social Work. The allowance amounts to € 450 per month for a full-time internship of 36 hours per week. The allowance is awarded pro rata to the number of working days.
