You realize underground infrastructure for the energy transition: from route to permit, from design to execution.
As a design lead for underground infrastructure (cables and pipelines), you are responsible for the complete design process of infrastructural projects underground. You guide projects from route studies and detailed engineering to realization and ensure an integrated, permitable, and executable design. You monitor the coherence between design choices, environmental constraints, and feasibility. You lead your team both technically and procedurally and ensure that investigations, such as soil, ecology, archaeology, and geotechnics, are integrated into the design. Additionally, you coordinate permits, procedures, and land matters and actively maintain contact with clients, competent authorities, and local residents. You ensure that the right specialists are involved at the right time and maintain control over planning, quality, and risks throughout the entire process.
For clients such as grid operators, energy companies, and contractors, you fulfill a role that provides peace of mind: you bring all disciplines together into one integrated design that is ready for execution. In this way, you contribute directly to grid reinforcement, energy transport, and the energy transition in the Netherlands.
Solving the puzzle between technology, environment, and execution and truly moving projects forward;
Maintaining an overview and making decisions in a dynamic project environment;
Identifying opportunities to make designs smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable;
Collaborating in multidisciplinary teams and connecting colleagues;
Working on projects that contribute to a future-proof underground and energy infrastructure.
You work within the Environment & Energy advisory group, where you collaborate with route engineers, GIS specialists, soil and environmental experts, and colleagues in the field of permits and procedures. Together, you form one integrated project team. You communicate extensively with project managers and clients, ensuring that content and process align seamlessly. This multidisciplinary way of working ensures a challenging, varied work environment with an impact on the living environment of tomorrow.
HBO/University working and thinking level, for example in civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental science, or spatial planning;
Experience in or affinity with underground infrastructure and/or energy transition projects;
Integrated thinking ability: you oversee the impact of the environment and conditioning on design and execution;
Strong communication skills towards clients, colleagues, and stakeholders;
You are structured and result-oriented: you maintain control over progress, actions, and dependencies.
You are available 32 to 40 hours per week.
