The role

Are you a technical professional with an interest in rail infra and underground infrastructure? Or do you already have experience as an Engineer, Designer, or Work Preparer and are ready for a next step? For our engineering team in Vianen, we are looking for a Cables & Pipelines Engineer for Underground Rail Infrastructure. In addition to a good salary, you will receive plenty of development opportunities, hybrid working possibilities, and no less than 43 days off per year.

What you'll do

As a Cables & Pipelines Engineer for Underground Rail Infrastructure, you translate customer wishes into a technically feasible cable plan. You design cable and pipeline routes along railways and at stations and ensure that designs are ready for execution. In doing so, you work closely with colleagues from different disciplines, site managers, and design leads.

VolkerRail possesses all important design disciplines in-house. As a result, you will work in multidisciplinary project teams on smart, manufacturable, and future-proof solutions for the Dutch rail infrastructure.

Within your role, you will be involved in, among other things:

• Designing cable and pipeline routes within rail infra projects;
• Elaborating designs in MicroStation;
• Collecting and processing project information, regulations, and technical requirements;
• Preparing designs for execution;
• Coordinating technical solutions and working methods with site managers and project teams;
• Contributing to tenders by determining design efforts and design costs;
• Monitoring the progress and delivery schedule of your designs;
• Collaborating with other disciplines for an optimal integral design.

Additionally, you will work with modern digital techniques and systems such as BIM360, ground radar, 3D laser scans, GIS systems, GPS-RTK measurements, and KLIC data according to the CROW500 guidelines.
