Internship Work Preparation and Execution Civil Engineering in the Netherlands

From foundation piles and concrete structures to installations and water purification: an incredible amount of technology comes together during the renewal of the wastewater treatment plant in Ooltgensplaat. Does it seem interesting to you to be in the middle of such a project during your studies? As an intern at Van Hattum en Blankevoort, you will participate in the project team and get the chance to gain experience in both work preparation and on the construction site.

Van Hattum en Blankevoort is working on the large-scale renewal of the wastewater treatment plant in Ooltgensplaat. It is one of the locations within a larger program aimed at renewing several wastewater treatment plants on Goeree-Overflakkee. Execution has since commenced in Ooltgensplaat. During your internship, you will be part of the project team within work preparation and execution. For example, you will assist in preparing activities, checking drawings, and maintaining the schedule. Additionally, you will regularly accompany the team to the construction site and see how the work is actually being carried out. On this project, you will deal with various aspects of civil engineering. Think, for example, of foundations, concrete structures, and the preparation and realization of components of the new wastewater treatment plant. As a result, you will see how different disciplines come together within one large project.

In addition, you will have the space to work on your own internship assignment and further investigate a technical or organizational issue within the project. You will primarily learn the trade by doing it yourself and will receive guidance from experienced colleagues. The beauty of this internship? You are working on a project that is not only technically interesting but also contributes directly to a future-proof water chain and a sustainable living environment.
