Data Engineer

• Salary between € 4,800 and € 6,500 gross per month (based on 40 hours) depending on knowledge and experience

As a Data Engineer at VolkerWessels Infra Digital, you work in the heart of the world of infrastructure and digital innovation. You are part of VolkerWessels, one of the largest construction groups in the Netherlands, and with your work, you contribute directly to smart, sustainable, and future-proof infrastructure construction projects.

From data from machines on the construction site to sensors, asphalt measurements, and project information: an enormous amount of data converges daily at the operating companies of VolkerWessels Infrastructuur. You ensure that this raw data is unlocked, enriched, and made reliably available, so that colleagues can make better decisions in projects, reports, and analyses. As a Data Engineer, you are part of the Data team and are responsible for realizing reliable, scalable, and future-proof data solutions. You ensure that data from various sources becomes available in a structured and secure manner for analyses and decision-making within the operating companies.

You work on the further development of the Data Platform and, together with colleagues from the business and IT, translate information needs into high-quality data products. In doing so, you keep an eye on data quality, security, and performance, and you actively contribute to the further professionalization of data-driven working within VolkerWessels Infra Digital.

• Setting up the ingestion, storage, and processing of data

• Realizing high-quality data products for the business using data pipelines

• Realizing added value from these data streams

• Managing and continuously improving the Data Platform

• Providing advice on the improvement of data quality

• Automating management tasks as much as possible

• Optimizing Azure cloud resources

• Collaborating with BI Specialists, Data Scientists, GIS specialists, and IoT clients

• Consulting with the Product Owner, Data Architect, and Security Officer

• Technically skilled, strong communicator, and a team player
