As a Data Engineering Team Lead at AS Watson, the company behind Kruidvat, Trekpleister, and ICI PARIS XL, you will have a varied role in which you combine leadership with hands-on work. You develop smart data pipelines and ensure that algorithms ultimately make it into production in a proper way. You participate in various projects simultaneously and work closely with a team of enthusiastic specialists. You will become part of our Data, Insights, and Analytics department, which consists of 4 teams: Decision Analytics, Data Analytics & Enablement, Data Science, and of course, Data Engineering.

In this role, you are not only technically strong, but you also have a fresh and future-oriented view on data engineering. You set the course, inspire the team, and ensure that everyone moves along in the development of a scalable and robust data infrastructure. In short: you ensure that the team moves forward and that the technology is rock solid.

What will you do in the role of Data Engineering Team Lead?

• Designing, building, and optimizing scalable and secure data infrastructures, including data lakes, warehouses, pipelines, and data marts. You select and manage technologies such as Python, SQL, Spark, and Azure Databricks.
• Team management. Naturally, coaching and training the data engineers in your team and performing code reviews, establishing standards and best practices that your team can work with.
• Data Quality, Governance, and Security. Ensuring data quality, integrity, compliance, and security within all data processes and products.
• Project Delivery & Roadmapping: Determining the technical roadmap with Product Owners, setting priorities, and ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
• Collaboration & solution design: Translating complex business and customer needs into technical solutions and collaborating intensively with Data Scientists, Analysts, and IT teams.
