Senior Data Engineer

Education: You have a university-level working and thinking ability and preferably a completed (university) degree in the direction of computer science, AI, or a similar field;

Experience: You have been active in a data-related role for at least 4 years. You have seen various organizations and worked in various teams. 

You have experience with the following programs/techniques:

• Python, SQL (low-level languages like C and Rust are a plus)

• Software testing

• Linux (network knowledge (firewalls, routing, VPN, SSH) is a plus)

• (REST) APIs (gRPC is a plus)

• Event Streaming systems (Kafka or similar)

• CI/CD

• Kubernetes and Docker

• Experience with a cloud platform such as GCP, AWS, or Azure

• You speak and write Dutch fluently (C1/C2 level) and English

• A salary between €5500 and €6500 gross per month, depending on knowledge and experience;

• A job for at least 32 hours;

• A contract for an indefinite period;

• 25 vacation days (possibility to purchase additional vacation days);

As a Senior Data Engineer, you play a crucial role: you ensure that the right data is available at the right time, from sensor to dashboard. You build and maintain the infrastructure with which we process all data into valuable insights for our customers and partners.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will receive plenty of room for your own initiative and technical creativity. You are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and systems that enable our core and future features.

• You develop robust data pipelines that process sensor, ship, and environmental data. For example, unlocking engine data from different types with different protocols, which then must be standardized and normalized.

• You contribute to building our cloud-native infrastructure;

• You automate processes using DevOps principles;

• You are involved in the development of streaming data pipelines;

• Together with your colleagues, you monitor and improve our data quality

• Develop new APIs and maintain existing ones to use this data in our applications or to share it with third parties.

• You work together with a team of experienced data engineers, in which you will always find a sparring partner to coordinate complex technical choices.
