The role

We are facing a major challenge: the Netherlands is electrifying at a rapid pace and our energy grid must be prepared for it. As a Lead Engineer, you can make an important contribution to that!

You will join the Energy Consult team in Apeldoorn. This team works on diverse high- and medium-voltage projects that contribute to the energy transition. This requires smart energy infrastructures, innovative solutions, and technical expertise. In the early project phases, you assess various technical scenarios and work towards the most suitable solution for the customer.

Through the collaboration between the different Business Units of Omexom, we can provide the full trajectory: from design and engineering to realization and commissioning. This way, you see the result of your work come to life, from the first sketch to a working installation that lasts for decades.

Projects vary in size and duration, from a few months to several years. In addition, we work with various contract forms, such as framework agreements, UAV, and UAV-GC.

At Omexom, we work on the energy network of tomorrow. Smarter, more sustainable, and safer. As the specialist in high voltage in the Netherlands, we realize projects that matter, for grid operators and large consumers, involving new construction, expansions, renovations, and maintenance of energy infrastructure.

With us, you will work in a close-knit team within a regional business unit, with plenty of room for responsibility and growth. At the same time, you are part of VINCI Energies: an international network of technical experts in more than 40 countries. In this way, we combine the best of two worlds: local and personal, with all the possibilities to further develop yourself.

Together, we make the energy transition a reality. Powered By Your Energy.

What you'll do

You will be involved in the basic design, preliminary design, and the engineering of high-voltage installations. As a Lead Engineer, you are responsible for the technical content of projects and ensure that all disciplines align well. You advise customers, lead engineers, monitor quality, planning, and finances, and act as an important link between clients, suppliers, and colleagues from various disciplines.

Concretely, this means you:

• Responsible for the technical content of projects, from advice and design to delivery;

• Leads, guides, and coaches engineers within various disciplines;

• Reviews and optimizes designs, drawings, calculations, and technical documents;

• Monitors the quality, planning, progress, and budgets of engineering activities;

• Acts as the technical point of contact for clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders;

• Identifies technical risks and bottlenecks in a timely manner and ensures appropriate solutions;

• Works together with the project team on innovative solutions for complex issues within the energy transition.

Omexom is not a place for waiting around. We are looking for someone who takes charge. You determine how you approach your projects, which choices you make, and how you lead your team. This requires someone who takes initiative and dares to take responsibility.

This role is a fit for someone who enjoys being the technical authority that the team can build upon. You provide direction, make choices, and ensure that people understand why, not just what.
