Cable Engineer - North Netherlands

• A completed HBO (Higher Professional Education) or WO (University) degree in an (electro)technical field.
• Sufficient substantive knowledge in the field of high-voltage connections (110kV, 150kV, 220kV and/or 380kV), through which you know where the risks in the technical design lie.
• An electrotechnical or mechanical background, OR experience with the design and calculation of high-voltage towers or similar structures, OR experience with a sub-topic such as insulators, conductors, insulation coordination, or grounding calculations and the desire to broaden this knowledge.
• Dutch and English language at a professional level.

• A permanent contract for 32-40 hours per week with a two-month probationary period.
• Salary in scale 8: €4276.00 - €8443.00 gross per month, with 8% holiday allowance and a 6% year-end bonus (in accordance with CAO TSO).
• A solid pension via ABP, in which we pay no less than 70% of your pension premium.
• 43 leave days per year.
• Hybrid working, including an internet and a home office allowance.

Imagine this: you start a new project for the installation of a 150kV or 380kV high-voltage cable to meet the demand for sufficient transport capacity on the grid. This must, of course, be realized as quickly as possible, but not before the technical design has been created. As a cable engineer, you are not only responsible for the design of the cable connection, but you will also be involved in the realization later on. As a Cable Engineer, you are responsible for the technical design of high-voltage cable connections, so that the Netherlands can continue to rely on reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy.

• You provide technical input in tracing new cable connections and advise on the technical design from a professional standpoint, ensuring that the route and design are based on the correct technical knowledge and that you are the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding technical issues.
• You design the cable connection from basic design to execution design within the scope and constraints of the client, so that the project proceeds with technical substantiation from routing to realization.
• You direct and assess external engineering parties on behalf of your field of expertise, ensuring that the cable engineering is carried out in accordance with the specified requirements and quality standards.
• You coordinate with and monitor the technical interfaces between all involved parties and suppliers within the project, so that the cable connection functions as a coherent whole.
• You review calculations, drawings, reports, and analyses from third parties and oversee compliance with (inter)national standards and guidelines, so that the cable connection is delivered with high quality and in compliance.
• You evaluate and optimize engineering processes within your field of expertise, so that the engineering team can continuously contribute to more efficient and higher-quality project execution.
