The role

To expand our team, we are looking for a:

What you'll do

As depot manager, you are the primary point of contact at our depot in Lage Weide in Utrecht. You hold the daily management, supervise the activities, ensure that everything runs smoothly, and act as the connecting link between colleagues, drivers, and customers. Together with the team, you ensure that the process at the depot runs safely, efficiently, and in a structured manner. Additionally, you perform the administrative processing and support the commercial department.

Plenty of freedom and variety in an independent position. Together with the Operations Manager and the commercial department, you coordinate the incoming and outgoing soil flows at the soil bank. You will be given the space to develop yourself by following suitable courses or training. We have a flat organization and are always open to new and creative ideas. If you see opportunities where we have not yet seen them, you may convince us to invest in the progress of the soil bank.

You ensure general safety, order, and cleanliness at the soil bank. You monitor the agreements with customers and suppliers of the delivered or purchased soil and construction materials. Additionally, you take, or have taken, samples and analyze and manage the various depots. The activities are very diverse, from administrative to operational. A true ‘indoor-outdoor’ position. For example, you create guidance slips (paper + digital) and ensure the correct deployment of personnel and equipment. You maintain logbooks and guide and support your operational colleagues.

The rest of your activities consist of:

  • Monitoring compliance with the regulations from the BRL 9335 Soil;
  • Monitoring compliance with the regulations from the issued permit;
  • Monitoring compliance with the regulations from the Quality Manual (KAM);
  • Checking and signing off transport slips both on paper and digitally (LZP);
  • Supervising sampling at the soil depot;
  • Identifying batches of soil at the soil depot or in the field;
  • Supervising the transshipment, storage, and merging of soil batches in accordance with BRL 9335-1;
  • Performing indicative sampling in occurring cases;
  • Recording the overview map/board drawing;
  • Maintaining a logbook for the equipment to be deployed;
  • Weekly consultation regarding the progress of the soil bank with the commercial department.

You are communicatively skilled, quality-oriented, and result-oriented. You love a dynamic working environment with plenty of variety. Collaboration and integrity are highly valued. You are also administratively strong, resistant to stress, and flexible in your daily schedule (no two days are the same). When you have an affinity with infra and/or soil flows, the match is complete.
