Finance & Controlling Manager

• At least a completed HBO degree in Business Economics, Accountancy, or similar

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience

• Experience in leadership

• You possess very good ICT skills, Excel, and data skills

• Strong analytical skills

• The willingness to assist operationally alongside strategic activities, but specifically being responsible for good task distribution and reliable backup within the team.

You will be working at our Hazardous Waste production site in Almelo. Our location has 47 employees and the finance department consists of 4 employees. As a European market leader in the processing and reuse of hazardous waste, we have been working towards a safe and sustainable living environment since 1975. With our expertise, we protect people and the environment and give waste streams a valuable, new destination.

Your role

As Finance & Controlling Manager, you are an important link within our organization. You combine financial expertise with a broad, business-oriented perspective. You work closely with management and are a member of the management team (MT). Based on your analyses and insights, you advise on financial and strategic issues.

In addition, you lead four colleagues within the department and ensure professional, pleasant, and result-oriented cooperation. As a coaching leader, you provide direction to the team and stimulate delegation, knowledge sharing, and collaboration. By documenting processes well and training employees broadly, you build an independent and resilient team.

• You actively supervise the financial performance of the organization. You prepare cash flow forecasts, monitor working capital, and oversee timely and correct invoicing and collections. Additionally, you are responsible for budgeting and forecasting and perform margin analyses. 

• Supporting and advising management and various departments

• Advising the MT on strategic issues

• Leading four team members within the department

• Accounting and reporting; you are responsible for a reliable and complete financial administration and ensure timely month-end closings, correct balance sheet reconciliations, and clear group reports. In doing so, you apply your practical knowledge of IFRS and make an important contribution to the quality and further professionalization of our financial processes. 

• Assisting with other operational activities when necessary, for example during illness or vacation
