Technical operator

• A completed MBO education in a technical field;

At the KLM environmental center (KMC) at Schiphol Oost, which falls under Veolia, wastewater that has become contaminated due to aircraft maintenance in workshops and hangars is processed, among other things. Additionally, it is a collection point for the processing of hazardous waste. Through good processes and well-maintained installations, the KMC ensures that heavy metal pollution is filtered out of the water, so that it can return to the foul water sewer sufficiently clean for the next step in the purification process at Evides' biological water treatment at Schiphol Oost.

As a technical operator, you will have many different responsibilities within the KMC. You are responsible, among other things, for managing, monitoring, operating, and maintaining the wastewater processes. The treatment of incoming hazardous waste is also part of your job package.
In this position, you will work day shifts, but you will also have on-call duties. 

Your challenge as a Technical operator:

• Inspecting and maintaining equipment and installations; 
• Maintaining specific parts of process installations;  
• Taking samples for research in the laboratory;
• Assisting with emergencies occurring within and outside the KMC;
• ​​​​​​​Preparing the transport of hazardous waste to external processors.
