The role

The role

As Corporate Real Estate Project Manager, you are responsible for the entire trajectory of housing projects. From the initial idea and investment proposal to delivery and commissioning. You work on buildings that contribute directly to the growth and development of our companies.

The products and processes of our operating companies form the starting point for every project. You translate these needs into future-proof corporate buildings in which production, technology, energy, logistics, and quality come together. In doing so, we do not only build for today, but create housing solutions that offer space for future growth and flexibility, always with a practical and cost-conscious approach.

You will join a compact real estate department of three professionals, each with their own expertise and background. Within the team, you will receive a great deal of autonomy, but also have colleagues with whom you can spar about technical, financial, and organizational issues. Additionally, you will work closely with specialists within VDL in the fields of sustainability, safety, subsidies, and energy.

What you'll do

What will you do?

As Corporate Real Estate Project Manager, you are the professional advisor and sparring partner of our operating companies. You are the connecting link between architects, advisors, contractors, installers, and internal stakeholders.

Based on the housing requirements, you develop a functional concept together with the operating company, prepare investment estimates, and guide the decision-making process. In doing so, you combine strategic insight with a practical approach.

After approval, you direct architects and advisors towards a Final Design, manage tenders and contract formation, and are responsible for the execution of the project. You monitor planning, quality, budget, and progress, and ensure that projects are successfully realized.

Your responsibilities

  • Advising operating companies on housing and real estate issues;
  • Translating user needs into functional and future-proof housing solutions;
  • Preparing investment estimates, business cases, and project proposals;
  • Guiding decision-making and investment requests;
  • Directing architects, advisors, and other external parties;
  • Organizing tenders and contract formation;
  • Monitoring planning, budget, quality, and risks;
  • Coordinating execution through to delivery and commissioning;
  • Identifying opportunities in the fields of sustainability, energy, and future-proof housing;
  • Visiting VDL locations domestically and, if necessary, abroad.
  • You are involved from the first sketch to the final delivery.

Your strength

You are a construction professional who feels at home in an industrial environment. You are curious about the processes of our operating companies and know how to uncover the question behind the question. You understand what an organization needs to grow and translate this into a practical and future-proof housing solution.
