The role

Keeping the Netherlands running is our mission. As a Land Rights Advisor, you ensure that the electricity grid remains future-proof. Together with your team, you work on realizing and securing private law rights for large high-voltage projects in Central Netherlands that contribute to a stable and sustainable energy system.

As a Land Rights Advisor, you are responsible for advising on and realizing private law security within large high-voltage projects in Central Netherlands, such as the Diemen-Lelystad-Ens project, so that the Netherlands can continue to rely on reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy. You work together with various disciplines in a single project team. Your role matters: you have a significant impact on the experience of our stakeholders and the ability to build new facilities in a timely manner.

What you'll do

  • You are involved from the beginning of the process, from the preparation of studies to the finalization of contracts. It is precisely in that early phase that you make the difference.
  • You advise project teams, management, and stakeholders on private law issues, policies, standards, and working methods within land rights, ensuring that decision-making takes place carefully, is legally sound, and is executable.
  • You are the approachable point of contact for landowners, such as farmers, and you arrange who visits them and when. You maintain relationships with landowners, land managers, appraisers, governments, and internal stakeholders. You stay in dialogue, work towards agreements, and ensure the interests of the surrounding environment are weighed in TenneT's process, so that support is created and progress is maintained.
  • You interpret and translate laws and regulations, internal frameworks, and developments within private law into project approaches, risks, and solutions, so that projects can be executed in a controlled and predictable manner.
  • You develop, coordinate, and implement solutions for obtaining and securing necessary business rights, so that construction and expansion projects can be realized in a timely manner.
  • You monitor the progress of land rights activities, legal procedures, project plans, and budgets and report on these to the relevant stakeholders, so that time, quality, and costs remain controlled.
  • You initiate and guide improvements within the land rights field, share knowledge and best practices, and act as the substantive point of contact for core processes within the department, so that the quality and professionalism of execution are further strengthened.

How you'll work

You can regularly be found in the region and are visible to stakeholders: you don't just work behind your desk, but in the heart of the environment. You work alternatively from our head office in Arnhem, at project locations in the region, or from home. Additionally, it frequently occurs that you are out in the evenings for information evenings and meetings with the local community.

Experience & skills

We are primarily looking for someone who is enthusiastic about this challenge, feels at home in the role of relationship manager, and enjoys thinking along about new working methods.

Within TenneT, much attention is paid to diversity and inclusivity. By working together with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, we get better ideas, work more safely, and everyone feels they belong.

Competencies

  • Customer orientation: You have an eye for the needs of landowners and other stakeholders and articulate them clearly within TenneT. You follow up on matters so that questions and problems are truly resolved.
  • Balancing interests: You represent the interests of landowners and the environment, but also know when you must make a decision. You carefully weigh the diverse interests of landowners, governments, project teams, and other stakeholders and arrive at transparent and balanced solutions that enable progress.
  • Interpersonal understanding and insight: You understand the viewpoints of various stakeholders and why they take them. You build sustainable relationships, move effectively within a complex stakeholder environment, and act diplomatically in situations with conflicting interests.

TenneT offers you the chance to contribute to a sustainable energy future. Together with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders, you will work on innovative solutions that make the energy transition possible. With us, you will get the space to develop your talent and work in an environment where your growth is central. We believe in collaboration, forward-thinking, and innovation.
