The role

At TenneT, we work every day on the electricity grid of tomorrow. Our goal? A reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy system. The energy transition requires smart, decisive professionals. Within Real Estate & Facility Management, we ensure that our office locations and business-critical locations function safely, reliably, and well.

Will you contribute to this as a Contract Manager Real Estate & Facility Management?

What you'll do

As a Contract Manager, you ensure that our facility and maintenance contracts demonstrably perform and contribute to reliable and high-quality service delivery. You manage suppliers regarding agreements, performance, costs, and risks, and ensure that TenneT receives what has been contractually agreed upon.

You will work within the Contract Management team of Real Estate & Facility Management. Together, you will manage a wide contract portfolio in the field of facility services and technical maintenance. In doing so, you will work closely with, among others, the responsible internal clients, Procurement, Finance, and other specialists within TenneT.

Responsibilities

As a Contract Manager, you independently manage a portfolio of facility and/or maintenance contracts. You are responsible for management throughout the entire contract term and monitor performance, costs, risks, and contractual agreements. Additionally, from Contract Management, you take the lead in tenders and contract renewals within your portfolio.

Contract and supplier management

You manage suppliers regarding contractual agreements, KPIs, and SLAs. You conduct periodic contract meetings, assess performance, and address suppliers regarding deviations. You monitor the follow-up of agreements and actively drive the improvement of performance and service delivery.

Costs, risks, and compliance

You monitor the financial and commercial agreements within your contracts, signal deviations, and drive appropriate management measures. You identify contractual risks and oversee compliance with contractual obligations, internal frameworks, and relevant laws and regulations.

Contract changes and documentation

You assess change proposals and contractual issues, visualize the consequences for, among other things, costs, performance, and risks, and guide the decision-making process regarding these. You ensure that agreements, changes, and decisions are fully and demonstrably recorded and followed up.

Tenders and contract renewal

From Contract Management, you take the lead in tenders and contract renewals within your portfolio. You coordinate the process from preparation and planning to award, implementation, and handover to the management phase. You incorporate experiences and lessons from existing contracts, translate these into requirements and contractual principles, and monitor coherence, progress, risks, and decision-making. In doing so, you work closely with Procurement, which safeguards the procurement procedure and tender law frameworks, and with subject matter experts for the necessary functional and technical expertise.

Performance and improvement

You analyze contract performance, deviations, and trends and translate these into concrete improvement measures. You make performance demonstrable and discussable, and together with suppliers and internal clients, you drive the improvement of quality, costs, risks, and service delivery.

Professionalization

You work together with the other contract managers on a uniform and professional execution of contract management within Real Estate & Facility Management. You share knowledge and experiences, support colleagues with complex contract issues, and contribute from practical experience to the further development and improvement of working methods and instruments.

You are a business-like and connecting professional with substantive sharpness and decisiveness. You maintain an overview, can weigh different interests against each other, and are clear about agreements, responsibilities, and results. You take ownership of your contracts, signal timely when adjustment is needed, and escalate where necessary. You move easily between suppliers, internal clients, and substantive specialists and know how to bring parties along in what is necessary to achieve results.
