As a senior HSE coordinator, you help management and project teams to examine ingrained habits and make better choices together. As a senior HSE coordinator at SWARCO, you fulfill a staff function within our QHSSE team, with the Business Unit: Projects and Asset Management (PAM) as your area of work. You help management and project teams to take the next step in safe and healthy working. There is a clear mission: to build a safety culture together in which colleagues take responsibility, call each other out, and look out for one another. You ask questions, hold up a mirror, and help translate ambitions into choices that actually work in the field.

You are involved from an early stage. During a tender, you think along about the risks/opportunities and what is needed to execute the work safely during the realization phase. That involvement continues through design, preparation, realization, and maintenance. From work on bridges and locks to the maintenance of the King Willem-Alexander Tunnel and technical systems at airports including Schiphol. You seek out the projects and engage in conversation with your colleagues who organize and execute the work. You are there for the people, you are critical, you think along about how safety and health can be secured as well as possible, and you help with practical issues to make things just that little bit better.

You coordinate and supervise hired safety professionals on projects where extra effort is required for PAM projects and together you monitor progress. You provide substantive direction, think along with difficult issues, and help colleagues where necessary. You also bring your experience to our QHSSE team! Our department consists of a number of HSE advisors and Quality coordinators with whom we regularly brainstorm about what is going well and where the challenges lie. Learning and sharing are central within our team.

Together with the HSE advisors and quality specialists, you develop policy, improvement programs, and training. You enjoy presenting and facilitating interactive sessions centered on attitude and behavior. Additionally, you contribute to conducting behavioral observations, workplace inspections, and you perform audits related to VCA** and the Safety Culture Ladder. If an incident occurs, you investigate what happened and advise on improvements, so that we can learn from this within SWARCO.

You work from Amersfoort, Wormerveer, and Barendrecht and visit project locations throughout the country. Sometimes this means joining an evening, night, or weekend shutdown, obviously in consultation. If an overnight stay is necessary, SWARCO arranges the hotel!

Who we are looking for You combine firmness with an approachable personality. You make contact easily, listen well, and probe further to understand what is truly going on. With your knowledge and experience, you act as the proverbial mirror: you ask questions and think along about solutions that work in practice. Communicating at different levels within the organization is no problem at all for you. You know how to bring people along in your considerations and advice, but if the situation calls for it, you do not hesitate to give firm advice.

You do not wait until information reaches you automatically, but you actively seek collaboration with colleagues. Helping colleagues, learning together, and strengthening each other; that is what you believe in. You enjoy sharing your experience. In doing so, you remain practical and down-to-earth: you maintain an overview, know how to set priorities, and turn plans into actions. Furthermore:
