The role

As an ambulant residential support worker, you support people in their own living environment. You help them gain control over daily life, in a way that suits them. You work based on a personal support plan that has been drawn up together with the client. You ensure that this plan comes to life: by listening, guiding, and offering practical help where necessary. Think of doing groceries together, cooking, or getting the household in order. But also of offering a listening ear during difficult moments. You switch gears quickly and know what is needed, even when the situation changes unexpectedly. You are never alone in this: you work together with colleagues, informal caregivers, and other stakeholders. You use modern tools such as video calling and e-health to make your work even more effective. At the same time, you remain alert to signals that could indicate something about the client's well-being. You record this carefully and share your findings with the team. This position requires independence, resilience, and the ability to make the right choices in the moment. You will encounter diverse situations, in which your calmness and decisiveness make the difference. You grow in your role through experience, reflection, and collaboration.
