Pay & benefits

What you'll get

All financial employment conditions at a glance, so you know exactly what to expect:

  • A gross monthly salary between € 7,091 and € 10,413 (based on 40 hours), 20 vacation days, and pension accrual with ABP, for which we pay 70% of the premium.

  • Your development is central, with education, training, and inspiring events.

The role

As manager of strategic communication and advisory, you provide direction to Stedin's communication and make an impact on societal issues that affect the whole of the Netherlands.

Why working at Stedin gives you energy:

The energy transition requires difficult choices that are directly felt by customers, governments, companies, and society. As manager of strategic communication and advisory, you ensure that societal developments, stakeholder interests, and reputation risks are included in decision-making at an early stage. You strengthen the strategic position of communication within Stedin and contribute to clear, explainable, and socially responsible choices. In doing so, you lead a team of professional communication advisors.

What you'll do

  • Direct influence on the board, management, and societal decision-making.
  • Working on current themes such as the energy transition, grid congestion, and reputation issues.
  • You leave room for what is important: flexible working hours and working with a professional team of communication experts and colleagues.
  • You start the day by reviewing the most important developments within and outside Stedin. A current dossier regarding grid congestion requires coordination with the board, management, and stakeholders. Together with your team, you determine which societal signals, communication issues, and reputation risks deserve extra attention.
  • Later in the morning, you join a management meeting. A strategic decision with a major impact on customers, municipalities, and the energy transition is on the agenda. You bring in the perspective of stakeholders and society, identify opportunities and risks, and help executives make complex choices clear and explainable.
  • An important part of your day is dedicated to your team of communication advisors. You discuss ongoing dossiers, coach on advisory skills, and help set priorities. In doing so, you ensure that communication does not just follow after the fact, but is involved in important strategic choices from the very beginning. By providing direction, inspiration, and room for development, you build a strong team that visibly contributes to Stedin's ambitions.
  • In the afternoon, you work together with the Director of Communication and your MT colleagues on the further development of Corporate Communication. You discuss how the department can contribute even more effectively to Stedin's organizational goals and how data, AI, and impact measurements can further strengthen the communication profession.
  • You end the day with a conversation with an employee about a politically sensitive stakeholder issue. You help weigh diverse interests, bring calm and direction, and ensure that Stedin continues to communicate credibly and transparently.
