What we're looking for
You are analytically strong and enjoy converting data and technical information into actionable insights. Additionally, you are curious and have a research-oriented mindset, allowing you to acquire new knowledge quickly and identify opportunities for sustainability. Finally, you are a true connector: you collaborate easily with colleagues from different disciplines and know how to convey complex information clearly.
Furthermore, you have
• You are pursuing a university (WO) degree such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or similar (at least a third-year bachelor or master's student).
• You have an affinity for sustainability and knowledge of or interest in Life Cycle Assessments (LCA).
• You possess good oral and written skills in English.
Pay & benefits
What you'll get
- A gross monthly salary of 2,716.06 based on 40 hours of work
- 24.5 vacation days and pension accrual with ABP, where we pay 70% of the premium.
- On top of your salary, you receive a personal budget of 24% (including 8% holiday allowance). You choose what to do with the budget: for example, extra salary or (up to max. 35.5) vacation days. You can see how it works in our calculation tool.
- € 700.- (gross) annually to spend on your own energy, for example for your sports membership or your new sportswear.
The role
As a Working Student Sustainable Assets & Energy Transition, you will help Stedin make sustainable choices for the energy infrastructure of the future.
As a Working Student Sustainable Assets & Energy Transition, you contribute to making Stedin's energy infrastructure more sustainable. You support the calculation of environmental impact, the assessment of sustainability claims, and the preparation of tenders for, among other things, cables and transformers. With your analyses and insights, you help Stedin make sustainable choices for a future-proof energy grid.
A day as a Working Student Sustainable Assets & Energy Transition
What you'll do
• You work on sustainability issues that directly influence the energy grid of millions of Dutch people.
• You get the chance to gain practical experience within Asset Management, sustainability, and the energy transition.
• You work together with experts from various fields and build a valuable network within Stedin.
• You start your day by analyzing data to make the environmental impact of various assets transparent.
• Together with the Sustainability Asset Manager, you discuss ongoing projects and research opportunities for further sustainability.
• You assess sustainability information from suppliers and test whether claims are sufficiently substantiated.
• During a meeting with colleagues from different departments, you think along about how sustainability can be better anchored in processes and policy.
• At the end of the day, you work out your findings and provide input that is used directly in future investment and procurement decisions.
How you'll work
- Modern home working facilities and a home working allowance of € 2.40 per day. At Stedin, we work 50% from home and 50% in the office.
