The role

description

ROLE SUMMARY Procurement Manager CRS Europe € 4,000 - € 6,000 gross per month (depending on experience) Working from the Netherlands In this role, you will direct and further build procurement within our Crane Rental Services (CRS) branches in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and Denmark. You will work independently, close to the operation and in close cooperation with local buyers, the Global Procurement team, and Procurement Managers from other clusters. From this position, you will bring structure to procurement, limit risks and costs, and ensure a better connection between suppliers, contracts, and internal stakeholders. Proactivity, close cooperation with local and central stakeholders, and the drive to create lasting added value for Mammoet through structure, efficient working methods, and clear documentation, are essential for successfully fulfilling this role. Together with local stakeholders, you will further shape the procurement agenda, whether it concerns project-specific purchasing, framework agreements, or tender processes. For local buyers, you are the point of contact for working methods, data, and systems. You combine strategic oversight with a practical approach and act as both a substantive leader and an active partner in execution. In this role, you will travel regularly to other CRS locations within the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Denmark, with the main focus being in the Netherlands. WHAT YOU WILL DO You will contribute to improving the procurement approach for CRS, in line with Mammoet's global procurement strategy and governance. In doing so, you will optimize and standardize procurement processes, supplier flows, and expenditures. You will ensure that existing contracts are better utilized and that expenditures fall under appropriate framework and supplier agreements as much as possible. You will structure and monitor procurement flows within the organization in coordination with the finance department and local budget holders. You will make an important contribution to tender processes from preparation to implementation and, in close cooperation with the branches, negotiate optimal commercial terms and sustainable supplier agreements. You will reduce commercial, operational, and contractual risks and realize cost optimizations by bundling spend, increasing contract coverage, and purposefully reducing the number of suppliers. You will build and maintain relationships with both international and local suppliers in close cooperation with the branches and develop a structural approach to supplier management, performance reviews, and continuous improvements. You will be a strategic sparring partner for Operations, branch managers, and local buyers, translating business needs into concrete sourcing and improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will provide support where necessary regarding contractual customer issues and negotiations. WHAT YOU NEED HBO or WO working and thinking level, preferably in procurement, supply chain management, business administration, or a similar field. Experience with procurement, sourcing, supplier management, contract management, or a similar commercial or operational role. A proactive and entrepreneurial attitude: you do not wait for assignments, but ask questions, listen to signals, and initiate opportunities and projects yourself. Analytical ability to understand spend, risks, supplier performance, and processes and translate them into workable improvements. Experience with tenders and negotiations is an advantage; relevant procurement certification, such as NEVI or CIPS, is welcome but not decisive. Good command of Dutch and English. Willingness to travel regularly within the Benelux and occasionally to Germany, Denmark, and Belgium. WHAT YOU GET An independent and varied position with plenty of freedom to further build and shape procurement within CRS Europe. Direct visibility and influence within the branches and a strong connection to the global procurement organization. The opportunity to demonstrably contribute to risk reduction, cost optimization, stronger supplier relationships, and better tender results. An international working environment in which you collaborate with colleagues from different disciplines, branches, and countries. Plenty of room for your own initiative, professional development, and the realization of improvements that are directly noticeable in the business. An appropriate employment benefits package in accordance with Mammoet policy. WANT TO KNOW MORE?
